new orleans is becoming an interesting sociological study. when the artificial comforts of the human world are gone, all you are left with is your animal instincts.
people are reacting based on their life experience combined with their genetic make up.
some docile, some in aggressive attack mode
I think that a lot of the problem is that many of the people who live in the area are very very poor and have a lot of pent up hostility because they want their "piece of the pie".

I always thought people were animals anyway, because we were always taught that everyone would turn against JW's in the great tribulation.
I was fully expecting neighbours to turn round and push bicycle spokes through my eyeballs as soon as we were exposed at the only true religion.
I guess that has left me with a low opinion of 'society' and what holds it together (not much by the looks of it).
........and it`s very hot, and humid!! No sleep, no water to drink, let alone take a shower with. Comforts or not it`s almost impossible to exist in the south without the creature comforts as ice, food, water, airconditioning!!! ( or at least fans!! ) Makes one quite irritable, and hostile. I could not picture having to sit on the roof of my dwelling in the hot sun for a whole day, or 2, or 3 before any hopes of being rescued.

It is amazing how quickly social order can breaks down. Without laws and police to enforce them some people start doing whatever they feel like doing. I remember during the riots here in LA a radio talk show personality who in the past was for gun control when out and got a gun to protect his family because the chaos was getting close to where he lived. It is sad but there are some people who will only behave if someone is holding a club or a gun to their head.
Remember the prime directive of the news media: IF IT BLEEDS, IT LEADS.
I hve no doubt that there are many good, patient, caring, peaceful people in New Orleans.
Unfortunately, right now the anarchist thugs have the limelight.
I believe that order will return to New Orleans, and the survivors will carry on, just as survivors have always done.
This is not Armageddon.
