You assume many things with limited or no information, but that's what I've come to expect. But I'll tell you that I'm no socialist. But I'm not so stupid to believe for certain that global warming is simply a natural occurence that humans are not contributing to, and that it isn't something that could have disastrous consequences. Get some intellectual humility there young man, it might do ya some good.

Tales I wasn't referring to you, my computer is playing up today. I was referring to the comment previous about global warming being measured by the history of hurricanes in the gulf states.
That same poster said that the Cook Islands got a lot of hurricanes this year!!!

I was watching the learning channel,it was about globel warming.The scientists on the program stated that during the 14th centurey the earth was much warmer than it is now. So they were wondering if the earth went through cycles of warm and cold...OUTLAW

Chris, it does surprise me that you come down on the 'nay' side of this issue .. but then, that's one of the interesting things life; we often have no idea what the other thinks on a specific issue until the question is raised. :D
It's a subject that bears examination, but then the question asked seems more hypothetical and specific to me. Do you think that Bush is going to view this natural disaster as an indication that global warming is here? That was what I was initially trying to answer.
It's the politics of the issue, rather than whether we personally feel it is a real occurrence.
The whole issue of measuring the amounts of gases in Antartic ice was quite alarming, even for one who is already convinced of global warming (that would be me).

President Bush, like all leaders is under pressure from the corporate world to leave things just as they are. He realises that an economic crash will come more quickly than an evironmental crash if radical changes are made.

Even corporate giants realise that the economy needs growth to survive and there simply isn't enough resources left to exploit. Fossil fuels are not only choking us but are running out.
So I believe that there will be steady changes in attitude toward the environment, not by so called "greenies" who ever or what ever they are but by by large corporations who see an economic gain in the "green dollar".
Hey ballistic,how you doin bud?..True,they didn`t have exhaust fumes like they do now.So if the earth is in cycles,the greenhouse effect is going to excellerate the warming process.That`s not good..Right now the warm waters are confusing the salmon,and they are late spawning in my part of the world.Our fishermen will suffer for it this season..I`m borrowing a bud`s computer right now,when I get home I`ll crack a beer and toast to you,cheer`s bud.....OUTLAW
