The Bible was one of the few books many of the refugees had among their possessions. On Friday, several Jehovah’s Witnesses walked the floor of the Astrodome, where thousands of cots were set up, to offer their services.

    What "services"... Buncha weenies!

Well, I'm sure they didn't offer any food or money so hopefully people were wise.

They came armed with ONLY bibles huh???? Nothing else, nothing that the people could ACTUALLY use???? like food, water, blankets? Typical.....hopefully, they were offering shelter in their homes and perhaps prospective jobs???!!!!! Now that would be offering their help. It's been my observation, over the years, that there are those who truly want to help, and those who really don't know how to help, all they know is preaching the "good news".

My mother came back from the Sunday meeting touting how much the JWs are helping. Yet she can't be more specific than that. How typical.

They were there to tell them "I told you so".

How obtuse can any group of people be? How opportunist and manipulative? They're just finding a lot of captive "at-homes" to count their time. Worse than the proverbial old-time used-car salesman (no offense---just can't think of any other comparison).

Gee, they can get pioneer hours in without spending a dime to help anyone. They don't worry about making "rice Christians" because they don't even offer the rice! #$*(&!@!

Even more likely, they walked around with the NWT hoping that any witness who was in the 'Dome would recognize them. If they were recognized, then they probably offered help to only the witnesses -- i.e. offering temporary housing, food, clothes, etc.

My in-laws are there in Houston so I should be hearing the specifics pretty soon.

We all know what the witnesses are after, and serving the needs of worldy people is not high up on their list.

Yup... typical.... The WTS tells the JWs that the WTS is helping people, but won't actually tell them how they are helping or who they are helping, nor will they provide any video, pictures or news paper articles.
