What would you do if all the gas dried up?

Growing oil presents it's own problems... I could see the world becoming much like during WWII in if that happened. Some of the poor would be fighting over resources. Other places might become like the WWII victory gardens where people grew their own fuel/food because they had to.

We could look to the sun for a lot of our resources, however we would have to elect a president who isn't a former oil man.

I'm going to start walking soon. I need the exercise anyway. I just need one of those metal carts all the older ladies in my apartment building have! I'm not brave enough to ride a bike in the street.

Gasoline isn't all that expensive. Try getting gasoline 120 years ago. Buncha wimps.

Fortunately I tried to drive today and slammed two tires into the curb so my 1976 Skylark is staying parked.

Maybe we should elect a man from the sun? Stop blaming Bush for everything! As if this problem has just sprung up in the last 15 minutes and hasn't been going on for the last 40 years!

All political debate aside, but it would be nice if an energy bill (sponcered by Bush) had more "alternative" solutions to fuel included in it and less drilling for Alaska oil and nuclear projects in it. But then again, I'm glad he is who he is and I am who I am. I would not want the weight of the world on my shoulders like Bush has.

We'd probably consider ourselves rich as the whole family wouldn't be paying exorbitant insurance rates, auto maintenance, and the cost of gas.

Recalling that my husband rode his bicycle to work for the first ten years we were married, it really did make a difference in our budget. The only thing keeping him from riding to work now, is the dangerous curvey road with no appropriate bike lane and the early morning darkness at 5:00 a.m. He's working on rearranging his schedule and keeps trying to convince me there's another route he could take that would be a bit safer. Riding to work each day is a great way to get that daily dose of exercise, for mind and body. You don't have to be trying to fit in that trip to the gym after work.

I was taking note on the newscasts, that there really wasn't any population in New Orleans with bikes, and that's sad, since it could have provided a way out. The USA lags behind many other countries in this regard yet we may be due for a resurgence in two wheel drive!

I say drill in Alaska. Who cared about moose and caribou?

The neighborhood would have to get more organized. Maybe set up a schedule of someone to walk to the grocery store each week for the group. People would rely on each other more. Start my own garden. Get together to buy solar power screens.
