Political will is needed --- and there is no one correct method - it will need a combination of stategies
1) Keep prices high to encourage the boys in Detroit to develop fuel efficient vehicles - if we can put a man on the moon I am damn sure we can develop fuel efficient cars like they already have in Europe
2) Conservation and recycling
3) Some more drilling
4) Develop a transport system that is not car dependant - more public transport
5) Stop driving around in gas guzzling SUVs and pick up trucks unless absolutley necessary
6) Develop alternative fuels/etc
