So I was doing my paper route today and I was admiring all the different colored glazing balls that people have in their yards. I like gazing balls and I plan to get one for my yard. But I wonder, what is the point of a gazing ball? Or does it have to have a point other that being pretty to look at? Are jws allowed to have gazing balls or is it similiar to having windchimes thereby being something that a good jdub should avoid.

Ok that was my fluff of the day.

Are JWs not allowed to have windchimes? I've got one. Why is that an issue???

Hi Mrs. Jones and Billy Goat. Wind chimes have their history in false religion. They were used in ancient times as a means of keeping evil spirits from entering in to your home.

JWs have said for years it was up to your conscience about windchimes.. I remember reading articles about that in teh early 80s.. I've always had some

Growing up among the jws I remember windchimes as being something that was frowned on. Funny that the society had to write something making owning windchimes a "conscience" matter - if it's all that why even say anything about something so small as a windchime. Control it's all about control. Tho' my parents have had chimes since the early 80's too. So are glazing balls a "conscience" matter for jws too?

I remember the wind chimes no-no. Those are "gazing balls". Were very popular during the Victorian Era. Were placed in their flower gardens as decorations. As far as I know there is nothing bad about them. Juni
