Not all employers are high-control freaks. Neither are all churches.
You would have to ask people on a person to person basis. Even though a church or employer may not fit the description, the way in which an individual deal with the seperation is where you measure the true impact. As much negative as some see with the Witnesses, trust me, there are people who walked away and just left with little to no mental distress and see the organization as a minor pump in the road. Yet, like so many things in life, I could also find the oppisite.

I wouldn't need any enlightenment on that subject of what the Witnesses are, but at the same time, I also see all religions as showing cult traits and the Witness to me rank very low on the level of cults that destroy and control people's lives. Not that they are some harmless organization, but they're not asking people to drink poison punch and lighting fire to their bunk house. The reason, we all, have a more emotional connection to liking the title C U L T, is because it was the one we were part of.
