I wonder what the elder who read my DA letter and announced my DA makes of this. See, he knew I was having a problem with the generation teaching change. I specifically asked him "what if it's wrong? what if in a couple of years the FDS decides to re-issue the 1914 teaching?"

He said "THAT WILL NEVER EVER HAPPEN, AND IF IT DOES, THEN I WILL BE THE NEXT ONE WRITING A LETTER"

Hey bro: take out your pen!!

1914-1919 is responsible for the fulfillment of so many Bible prophecies the birth of the kingdom and Jesus' parousia and inspection can't be gotten rid of unless they adopt e-watchman's ideas. And he got DF'd. So I doubt 1914 is going anywhere any time soon.

For my money, the bigger problem facing the WT is the 1935 date. Assuming that someone would need to be near-adult to be eligible for "anointing", the youngest of the "truly anointed, not replacements" would be 85 years old this year.

As the years go on, and the number of Memorial partakers continues to hover around 8000 (or even increases), even the most brain-dead JW would have to realize something is seriously wrong with the doctrine. Sure, there could have been a few bad apples among the anointed (there was the "Bethel apostacy" of the early 80's, no?), but the idea of thousands and thousands and thousands of anointed needing to be replaced...should lead to at least an uneasy feeling.

My prediction of the next date to get dumped is 1935, not 1914. Either that, or some "new light" on either what "spirit anointing" really is, or conceivably even a revision of the literal 144,000 number.

1914, The Time of The End, is really what marks witnesses sociologically different. They are special because they live like the end is near, not planning careers, watching their morality especially keenly, not gathering things. Of course this is hypocritical because it is only a very small minority of witnesses that follow this path.

I think this is a huge problem with several facets.

Besides the age of the so-called "truly anointed" today, another aspect of this problem is the gradual emergence of a third "class" of Christians that JW theology does not account for as more and more of those that were supposedly members of the "great crowd" die off.

I don't imagine this is causing the leadership a huge problem yet, because the average, brain-dead JW does not understand the concept of Christian salvation, and therefore doesn't grasp the problem with a whole class of Christians that don't directly benefit from the Ransom at all.

Eventually though, even the rank and file will start to wonder exactly what the "benefit" in being a JW really is. For example, what is the difference today between a non-anointed JW who died in a concentration camp and a guard in the same concentration camp now that they are both dead? JW's teach a two-class system of salvation. However this JW attained neither. He did not set aside his earthly body for the crown of heavenly life and he did not survive the "great tribulation." He's no better off than those in pre-Christian times. In fact, he's no better off than the man who kept him imprisoned.

since they are claiming it is the end, they can read all the very things paul and John wrote about the end and mean it, unlike many other so called christian religions..... however they should have realized by now, that Paul and John were wrong back then and the whole myth is a sham.... but apparently no other christians realized this either so they can be forgiven on that score too (^_^)
