First of all Derrick my dear, my name is Josie not Jose.
Second if you cant stand the heat dont come in the kitchen. Third, thank the Lord for small mercies. Youre funny if you think I care if you answer my posts. You dont answer most the posts directed at you anyway, this is nothing new.

OK, I've done thinking. I don't think that you have the corner on Samson's motives, defd. Your explanation of his character and motives have as much merit as misspeaches. I do think it is interesting, as misspeaches pointed out, that several times Samson did not talk to his parents about where he had been. At should be able to admit, at least, that he regularly put himself in risky situations.
I mean, weren't there any nice Jewish girls to go out with?

I hope that was tongue in cheek defd, that was really very harsh on hibie, and I wish to defend her as I have defended you in the past. I don't always agree with her, but mainly because she sometimes sounds similar to you in terms of dogmatism, which I happen to think is unscriptural in its spiritual sense. But I would not use such harsh words against you or JWs that you used about Hibie. Have I read it wrong?

Actually Jaffa, Derrick's comment wasnt directed at Hibiscus. Derrick's comment was directed at those who responded to this topic that he is disagreeing with. And he is relating to Hibiscus as sort of a comrade-in-arms.

I was always touched by the story of Lot's wife, turned into a pillar of salt for a glance behind her. She and her family were fleeing into the hills like a bunch of refugees, the town where she'd lived, her house, her friends, maybe a few grandkids, were all being destroyed by fire and sulphur from the sky. Imagine her fear and grief as she stumbled on the rocks; perhaps she could hear the screams of the dying people. Then, she turned for one last look at the destruction...and her merciful god turned her to salt. Did her family pause for a few moments, to say a few words for the wife and mother they'd lost? Or did they keep running, leaving her behind without another thought? I guess they just left her, otherwise their god would have killed them as well.
This story gets me sad, then I remind myself that it's fiction.

Derrick you won't bother trying to understand where I am coming from so I'm not going to continue on further with this discussion except to tell you that your 'holier than thou' attitude is very unbecoming.

Do we really need to "believe the bible to be true" to have a favourite character? I mean, I dont believe Star Wars is true either but I still have a favourite character!
Having said that, I would have to say Satan was the most interesting character
