I ain't gonna pick my top 5 cuz I love almost all of Sting/Police work.

But what's going through my head now is Dire Straights "Why Worry" ("don't worry?) .... haunting, with the background "thick thick thick thick thick"

spread a little happiness...from brimstone and treacle

low life...little known police track on the bring on the night live album

silent wings...brilliant backing vocals on tina turner track

i would love all his film songs and other songs he contributed on to be available on a cd

'Every breath you take' and 'Roxanne'

Sting comes from my home town and went to my old school, so I've always been a bit biased.

    5. Let Your Soul be Your Pilot

    4. Ghost Story

    3. Fields of Gold

    2. Fortress Around Your Heart

    1. If I Ever Lose My Faith In You

    fleur...we are practically twins...except

at no.3 i would have....why should i cry for you

tijkmo...of the amazed someone else has ghost story class

Holy freakin cow, tijkmo...why should I cry for you was the song that after I posted I kicked myself later for not putting it at number 3! I was having a neurology patient moment. That should be my number three instead of Fields of gold, I swear if you could wear a cd out I would have worn that song out by now.

That's scary LOL edited to add, you said: "someone to watch over me....from the film" as in the old 'standard' Someone to watch over me???"! I'm gonna have to find that!

how the hell did I miss THIS?

It has Valparaiso on it, that was used in a movie? That is the one that didn't make my top five but I really, really debated if I should put it in. That song is a masterpiece.

"Chase the dog star over the sea,

home where my true love is waiting for me...

rope the south wind, canvas the stars,

harness the moonlight, so she can safely go

Round the cape horn to Valparaiso."

    Sheer brilliance.

I have got to get my hands on that cd!
