Yes I talk freely. I am very active at the local level but as far as the big picture that is BUSH I even yell louder.
Do You Talk About Poltics Freely (In Real Life)?

Not sure I understood the point of this. Because of JW issues or because its not polite to talk politics or religion in public?
I could care less about JW issues, so I stay informed on political issues and am very vocal about them. As for when/where I talk about them, that depends on the situation. I usually avoid it at work unless its one of the ladies in my immediate department who are all of like minds. Other than that I have a bumper sticker that says "More Trees.... Less Bush".

I believe there's a time and place for every thing, but if a subject comes up that I feel strongly about I have no problem speaking my mind.If you see some things wrong and don't say or try to correct the wrong, what good are we ?
I think if people spoke out more (In Real Life) then maybe their voices will be heard.
Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession.
I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.Ronald Reagan (1911 - 2004)Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them.
- Paul Valery (1871 - 1945)
Ninety percent of the politicians give the other ten percent a bad reputation.
- Henry Kissinger (1923 - )
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
- Benjamin Franklin (1706 - 1790)
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.
- Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826), to Archibald Stuart, 1791
Patterning your life around other's opinions is nothing more than slavery.
- Lawana Blackwell, The Dowry of Miss Lydia Clark, 1999
:
Thomas JeffersonA wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned -- this is the sum of good government.
George Orwell:In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.
Speak out and be heard, or be led like sheep !
sorry I got a little carried away...

I know as much about the government and how it works as I do about the universe and why it's here, nothing. I sometimes want to complain about how much money they spend then I realize the government is supporting me now with SS and having insured my pension plan. They will probably waste all the money in the SS fund(If they haven't already) and leave us old farts out to dry.
I just don't trust a politician, the other day I mentioned if someone runs for a political position I think they are a crook. The other guys at McDonalds agreed with me.

I try to get a feel for what people are thinking before adding my 2 cents in.
My level and tone of discussion depend on the above, but for the most part I freely express my opinions. It really depends on the circumstances. Ever since I gained my political awareness, I feel like I'm making up for lost time. The one thing I really try to avoid is entering debates where I don't have enough facts about the subject. I'll usually sit back and listen... I can't stand when people who have no idea what they are talking about just start blathering on making no sense and spewing whatever the popular party doctrine may be on that particular day....and that's on both sides of the aisle.

Yes!
To borrow from Acadian's post, here's a couple of quotes from Canadian statesmen,
John G. Diefenbaker 1895-1979
"I am a Canadian,
free to speak without fear,
free to worship in my own way,
free to stand for what I think right,
free to oppose what I believe wrong, or
free to choose those who shall govern my country.
This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind."I am not anti-American. But I am strongly pro-Canadian.
Freedom includes the right to say what others may object to and resent... The essence of citizenship is to be tolerant of strong and provocative words.
There are two battlefields today, one of war and one of ideology. We do not convert people to think our way by pouring bombs upon them, day after day and week after week.
Lester B. Pearson 1897-1972
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.
The grim fact is that we prepare for war like precocious giants, and for peace like retarded pygmies.
Pierre Elliott Trudeau 1919-2000
Living next to you is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt.
The state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation.

When somebody else brings it up I'm totally ready to grab the reigns of my horse and starta ridin'. Because, politics these days aren't really factualy, but it's more, "How does this event change my view of so and so event or person". You can grab any assortment of evidence to support either way. Me personally I still have the JW cynicism about government for the most part.
