If you asked many JW's, how far can the new system be?

I wonder what would be the average answer? Less than 10 years from now????

Back in 1990, I remember a talk during a convention, the brother said that the end was less than 10 years away.... ha

I am sure they will tell you it is just around the corner, probably no more than 5 years away as this system cant get any worse, then in the next breath (just to cover their backs) they will say only Jehovah knows the day and the hour.

How, exactly, will we all be slaughtered by Jehovah? From all the illustrations I've seen, it looks like a rain of fire. What is that, exactly though? A comet or meteor? Or is Jehooba just having fun and launching fire down from nowhere? Will it happen all at once, or will it progress around the world, kinda like how the sun rises and sets. Will each person have a ball of fire designated for him or her, or will it just be a shotgun effect of fire and death?

I ask them this all the time. With one voice they all say it is just about here now. Them I ask how long in years. They all say with in only a few years some say within Five years others have said no longer than ten.

Russell originally claimed that the Millennium dawned in 1874. Rutherford moved this event up to 1914. So we're now almost 100 years into the Millennium. Oh wait, Freddy Franz moved the dawning of the Millennium to 1975 (the final 1,000 years of the 7,000-year long seventh creative day), and the Society has never corrected this but simply dropped the matter. So I guess we are now 30 years into Christ's Thousand Year Reign. How do you like your Paradise Earth?

Hi Leo. Freddy adjusted his thoughts on 1975 to say that the Sabbath/Millenium wouldn't actually begin until we reached the point after 1975 where Eve was created. So if she was created in c. 3986 BCE then the great tribulaton begins and ends in 2015 AD. Just a matter of clarification. :)
