I remember my last meeting. After a ridiculously uninformed and ignorant comment made from the platform I let out a very audible AHEM. I never went to another meeting again, until years later when I attended with my non-Witness girlfriend who accompanied her JW mother to the kingdom hall (but not by choice). She remarked, "You must really love me to come to a kingdom hall meeting with me."
Hello...I'm sort of new!

The easiest way to leave, I think, is to cultivate unconditional relationships with "worldly" people. Doing so means you'll always have someone who cares about you.

Joel, I agree. I established and re-established friendships with "worldly" people after my exit from the Watchtower religion. The moral support and just plain old good times made for a much easier transition.

Welcome Calico!
Not going to meetings really helps you to "detox" from the brainwashing. I agree with Joel about making friend outside of the org. A support system is extremely helpful.
Best to you.
