You shouldn't go if you want to grow a beard, Although an Elder told me one that it was ok for the black brothers to grow one because their hair folicles are different and they get ingrown hairs often.

Well this is true for a lot of black men. It happens to my husband, who by the way is black too.

Meetings can cause diminished sex drive.

Or was that just the effect the PO's wife had on me?

If I want to spend time listening to fantasies, I can pop Lord of The Rings into my DVD player at home. That way I don't have to dress up, pack up a bunch of books, study, waste gas driving, or have to sit in uncomfortable seats being bored out of my mind...I can put my feet up, eat popcorn and at least come away entertained, with the added bonus that I'm not expected to live my life based on the fairytale I just watched.

To prevent getting physically sick... SERIOUSLY! You see people go even if they are dieing.... "putting kingdom interests first". They won't stay home for anything!!!! "Pummel your body"...

On the other hand they transfer any sort of germ they are carrying to YOU!

Oh man, where do I start...

    1. Meetings are too long and too boring.

    2. They give false dates and false hopes

    3. Even if you go to the meetings, you're scolded continuously for not doing enough.

    4. Anything is better than going to the hall.

Oh hell LOTR is so much better than going to the hall and much more inspiring too.

Nobody's bullsh*t filter is 100% perfect. Exposing yourself to those dosages will almost surely lead to some level of contamination of thought.

Maybe you could pop in for the occassional Watchtower study at a Hall that doesn't know you just so you could raise your hand and comment, "Well, I've been an apostate for 3 years -- disfellowshipped for 2 -- and the way *I* see it..."
