Cofty,
You use the word SCIENCE
as if it is an ultimate weapon near which no one can come talking about
intuition. Even Einstein has gone on record saying intuition preceded most of
his scientific accomplishments!
For an intuitive mind, whether it is the individual human body or the larger cosmic body, essentially, they are made of five elements – earth, water, fire, air and space. In this, the first four elements are the active participants – space is the catalytic force. It is in the lap of this boundless space that these four elements play the game. So, the pancha bhutas are the five elements of nature.
What you call “myself” is just a mischief of these five
elements. If you want to realize the full potential of this mechanism that you
call a human being or if you want to transcend this one and become one with the
larger, cosmic mechanism, you need their cooperation. Unless you have a certain
amount of mastery over these five elements you cannot enjoy life.
If these five elements don’t cooperate, you can struggle as much as you want, nothing happens. Only with their cooperation, from the basic aspects to the highest aspect, your life becomes a possibility. This human system is like a doorway. A door has two aspects to it – if you are always facing closed doors, for you doors mean that which stops you. If doors are opening up for you, then for you a door means a possibility of entering into something. In either case, it is the same door; which side of the door you are on decides everything about your life, even in terms of time and space. Whether you experience this body as a great possibility or a great barrier simply depends on the extent these five elements are cooperating.
Whether this individual physical body becomes a stepping stone for your ultimate possibility or a hurdle towards that essentially depends on how you are able to deal with these five elements. What you are right now is just a little bit of earth, water, air and temperature. All the ingredients are out there in the garden; it just takes a little divine touch to make these four things into a throbbing human being.
Though many sages have tried to describe God and his purpose, the best they could do was to declare neti, neti (not this, not this).
Agreed. Can you do any better?
Behind this facade, there must be a grand purpose—something which religious leaders could not understand.
Why must there be a grand purpose? Why are you eliminating a regular purpose, and petty pupose, no purpose at all, God isn't any all like what religious people think of him as or that it might not exist?

Anytime anyone uses an Einstein quote to support wrong notions or religious notions or to suggest religion and science are similar, you can be sure that person doesn't understand science, religion or Einstein.
"GOD" intervenes/interferes in human affairs everytime a wackadoodle chops off someone's head, or stones their daughter, or covers up child abuse under the guise of the first amendment, or starts a tax free cult, or kills someone for their "GOD."
Some would say that "GOD" intervenes or acts when someone rescues a kitten or puppy, or feeds a homeless person, or starts a charity program.
The funny thing is that the second examples can all be done without any GOD/religion what-so-ever!
The first examples are rarely done without GOD/religion as justification.

Ethers are a class of organic compounds that contain an ether
group — an oxygen atom connected to two alkyl or aryl groups — of
general formula R–O–R. A typical example is the solvent and anesthetic
diethyl ether, commonly referred to simply as "ether"
(CH3-CH2-O-CH2-CH3). Ethers are common in organic chemistry and
pervasive in biochemistry, as they are common linkages in carbohydrates
and lignin.
abiather, I am not sure why you would mention ether though without mentioning the essential organic compounds required for life such as proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids.
Ooooh wait ... that's right. You're taking the Biblical ether here and not the actual organic chemistry one. Sheesh!
Never mind. When does God intervene in the affairs of mankind?
The opening title question makes the assumption that something called 'God' exists. Surely this premise has to be thoroughly examined before any meaningful debate can follow.
Actually, it might be after the two eclipses occur this March 20th and April 4th. The "Day of Jehovah" are said to follow a total solar eclipse and a total lunar eclipse and that's what is happening this year, with the lunar eclipse occurring on Passover!
Joel 2: 31 The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood
Before the coming of the great and awe-inspiring day of Jehovah."Acts 2:20 "The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and illustrious day of Jehovah comes."
God brings about Armageddon 1 year and 3 months after the UN takes over world government, which could be considered to have been sparked by the "great tribulation" associated with some global economic meltdown. So that's what we're looking at.
That is, WHEN will God intervene? Looks like after the lunar eclipse on Passover, April 4th! Something to prepare for, anyway!

You do realize that both of those things tend to happen clustered together always because math and geometry, right? Not because Jesus?
