Yes, he explained to me that my depression was caused by my lack to bible study, pioneering, progressing in the organization and my not going to bethel.
Did The Circuit Overseer Ever Do Anything For You On His Visit?

I can remember the old "new things learned" talks way back. I enjoyed them. Then the light went out and it became "continue in the things learned". Most ov the visits I remember were about bashing everyone over the head with a bat. Unless you were a pioneer or elder everyone just sat in their seats and puckered. We did have one CO James Wells, a very good speaker and seemed to speak from the heart.

I remember my parents taking the CO out to eat. I have to say they were always kind to me. I am sure when they got behind closed doors they weren't so nice if magazine placements weren't up, etc. I have heard that other CO's weren't so friendly. Just like everyday people, some nice, some OK, and a few lousy ones.

We had good circuit servants. We always enjoyed their visits. Some interesting things came up during the visit of the last one. Several sisters were pregnant after he came. Baptisms were way up 7 years later.

He "relieved" me of the extra weight of my pioneer card. He asked for it back because I fell 9 hours short the month I had my second baby in two years...even though I was 100 hours ahead for the year at that point.
But, since this was such a shock to me and another incident I filed under "Un-Christian Behavior" that forced me to question the organization, I would like to thank him now for pointing me out the door.
p.s. Ironically, his last name was Christian.
