This question arose from an argument with a friend of mine who is still in. Do apostates have the holy spirt?

Um, I dunno. I don't know what that sneaky bastard is up to. Do JW's? I dunno.

He says you will know them by the fruits their fruits. Who am I to judge anothers fruits? Who am I to say who has the holy spirit and who doesn't? By this am I to judge who God's people are? If that's the case, why didn't old Charlie find the group of people who were loving, kind, joyful, etc before he went out and damned us with the abomination called the WBTS?

One way to tell is by looking to the bible accounts of individuals who had the spirit and then because of there actions did not. 1 comes to mind........King Saul read his story.

By that, do I have Jehovah's spirit because I don't follow the slave? Honestly, that has kept me up at night before. Does the slave because they've made mistakes in doctrine? Where is the line of demarcation? Edited to say: I do know Sauls story by the way

Cool to have Jehovahs spirit put yourself inline with it. (Not that I am saying you are not currently at this time.) 1 john 5:3 This is what the love of God MEANS, the we observe his commands.............

Do apostates have the holy spirt?

That depends on who you call the "apostates" - the ones who continually change their beliefs, lie, cover up their history, and abuse others - or the ones who call them on it.

He says you will know them by the fruits their fruits.

Indeed. If my fruits were like those of the Watchtower I'd be keeping a low profile so as to avoid drawing attention to myself.

So who would have "Holy Spirit"? Those who expose wrongdoing or those who cover it up?

I don't claim to have "Holy Spirit" now, but I didn't when I was a JW either. And neither does the Watchtower. If they did they wouldn't appoint child abusers as elders.

Derrick, How do I put myself in line for it? Have I done something to take myself out of line for it? Would putting myself in line for it mean that I should ally myself with the organization since they truly seem to be the only ones preaching in the manner that they do?

Hey this is so cool. My church is doing a 9 week series on the books of John. Last Sunday we got into 1 John, it was great.

The Love - is it there? Is it here? The Love is where the Spirit is, and conversely the Spirit is where the Love is. The last visits to KHs in Virginia, Florida, Mass., Belize City, and Rochester N.Y. I didn't see or feel any Love, instead, rows of automatons dull, sluggish, self righteously imbued with their nonsense. It was peaceful in the hall in St. Cloud, Florida (sold to a Pentecostal group), I fell sleep during the WT meeting. A good sleep. The movements to stand for the song roused me. I left during the tune, I felt rested. That was my last visit.

I never said you werent in line with it. look at my comment below. Cool to have Jehovahs spirit put yourself inline with it. (Not that I am saying you are not currently at this time.) 1 john 5:3 This is what the love of God MEANS, the we observe his commands............. I only meant to say is that if you want to know if you have it or how you can get it, the bible is the best guide and answer for you.
