Only JWs would delude themselves that this represents giving a witness.
He has no idea where he is and what he is doing, but at least, he is a regular publisher.
This may actually be a required mental state for continued adherence to the door-knocking activity: If publishers are in a state of not knowing where they are or what they're doing, it would probably then protect them from the threat of doubt. It certainly makes life a lot easier just mindlessly accepting all of the Watchtower's doctrinal and interpretive flip-flops over the years.
