We are here in PA right now, and we just found out that the picketing has been cancelled. What happened Lawrence? There has been nothing said on the board and no notice of the cancellation. Soledad have you been informed yet??? Why was this cancelled?

I think it depends on what it's meant to accomplish. If it's meant to wake up the Watchtower and get it to reform, then you're right, it won't help a whit. If it's meant to get the current Bethelites and local JW's to question whether or not the protesters have a point, then I still agree that it is a pointless exercise. But if the goal (or unwitting result) is to alert the public at large to the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses are more than nicely-dressed magazine peddlers, then I think it could be effective. If the man on the street that MIGHT become a JW decides to rethink it based on the protest, then it would be worthwhile. Dave

I was wondering too if the picketing happened here in Canada. I saw nothing on the news about it

I agree it would do little good for active JWs - the society's propaganda machine has done its job and closed the minds of the average JW. But a protest can raise public awareness so people can guard against these wolves in sheeps clothing who come to deceive. W

As others have said, it will not change the 'tower and i doubt if many Bethelites will allow themselves a glance. But somebody might!!

If only one person ( maybe a visitor or tradesman )stopped and resolved to look into the issue , then it is certainly worthwhile. Anyway, I have utmost respect for someone who is prepared to travel from from Tennessee to Brooklyn and do this..

JG, I hope you get an explanation. You certainly deserve one.

the only thing that stopped me from the subway ride this morning was the rain and the long walk to 25 columbia hts; from boro hall bklyn. or else i would have been there. had i gone in spite of the rain and being alone, i'm sure i would have found a few dub.s and twisted their brains. the jw's at the boro hall subway stop .wt newsstand have allready called the police on me a number of times . remember me . bethel zombies at the 4 train stop. i'm only thinking it may have posponed because of the bad rain storm. or as has been talked about before is someone else using shunned fathers nick name? i hope it all works out. john
