Contradiction or new light ?
by Motema Bolingo inin the wt dated 1st of april 2004, last page, there is an article entitled "should we invoke the angels ?
" (sorry, it is my own translation, because i have the magazine in french).. the article specifies that "the bible reveals only the name of two faithfull angels : mikael and daniel.".
in the next paragraph, the society declares "that angels are not intercessors who bring our prayers before god's throne.

Yet, the Scriptures point to the resurrected Jesus Christ as the chief of all angels?Michael the archangel.
Who created the angels?

What Is YOUR Concept of "God"?

are you now unsure of "god's" existence?

I believe in a triune God. I believe that Jesus is Yaweh of the OT.
I believe that God will NOT share his glory with another. Thus the unity of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.

questions from a newbie!
by lfwalli inok i'm too impatient to look through all the old posts..so hear me out.. i'm studying with witnesses, but not yet baptized.
i was raised around the truth.. i've looked through some of the old posts and i have heard alot about the shunning of former "members".
i've been told that this is not a scriptural practice.

Ifwalli,
You will chase their "reasonings" with no results, and frustrations.
Consider this;
In Jw mindset the Bible is a closed book.
1. A answer given is the Orgs interpetation of what scripture is saying.
2. When the above is exhausted, you will wind up with a philosphical answer. (very dangerous)
3. If you dont question things now, you CAN NOT question once your in.

All About The Trinity
by UnDisfellowshipped inwhen jesus was about to die, he showed who his superior was by praying: "father, if you wish, remove this cup from me.
the one god is eternal (has always existed and always will), immortal (his divine nature cannot die), omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (he is everywhere at the same time), god is the only one who can read human hearts and minds, god cannot sin and cannot lie, god does not change his morals or his nature.
the trinity is not one person revealed three different ways (this is what "oneness pentecostals" believe).

WHOEVER the "Jezebel" is
I guess the discussion on your behalf, has elevated to this kind of reasoning.

Zen,
You make good points that a Jw cannot reason out.
The question then must be asked; what is an "original"??

Why should I have to "prove" something from the Old Testament that Christ Himself stated that He did?
Just show from scriptures as I've asked you to do. Instead of reading into the text at Rev 2:21 something thats just not there.
Christ Jesus could simply have been referring to a 1st Century "Christian" woman as "Jezebel" in the same way that people nowadays sometimes call evil people "Judas" or "Hitler".
This is your take on Christs' words.
Even if He was referring to the Old Testament Jezebel, Jesus very clearly says that He gave her time to repent,
Again this is your take on Christs' words.
About Manasseh: 2nd Chronicles 33:12-13: Now when he was in affliction, he implored the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.
Funny how you do not include the quote of scripture, which clearly shows the manner in which Manasseh arrived at this humbled position.
The Scripture says that after God brought affliction upon Manasseh, Manasseh humbled HIMSELF -- it doesn't say that God humbled him.
I ask you again, would Manasseh had a reason to humble himself if it first was not brought upon him by God? E

The Jw will perform "scriptural gymnastics" for this topic. They"ll just try to move away from this as soon as possible. Especially if you show any kind of Bible knowledge.
Whats even better is to ask the Jw "what came down from heaven"?
My elder study and I spent months on this. In the end he still had no real answer.

First their is a reference to Jezebel(her), in the singular, and then a reference to "those who commit" and "if they repent"
The words "they" and "those" are plural.
And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent
You ask me to explain these verses. These were explained previsously.
I go by the Scriptures and the Scriptures alone.
However, Ive asked you to show in scripture where Jezebel is given a time to repent. Since "she" lived in the OT times wouldnt it be appropiate to show from Kings 1 or 2.
Where is it?
Its the same problem you had with Manassehs " choice" when pushed for an answer you just ignored it.
