Is He/She "real"? Are you now unsure of "God's" existence? Do you ever pray to "God", anymore???

My daughter and I pray to "God"........I have not prayed to Jehovah because I don't want to associate his name with those people. We pray together at bed time and thank him for the day. She has also wanted to pray at some meal times, sometimes. She doesn't say God at those times, she just folds her hands and "Thank you for this day, thank you for this snack."

At bedtime, she is so cute, "Dear Gott, thank you for this day, thank you for the animals (her own idea to add this). Thank you for Mommy, Daddy and David and Nathan" then she tells me its my turn.

I really don't know what to think about there being a God. Nature is so complicated and it would seem that there had to be a creator, but I wonder where he is, or what he is thinking or doing. When I watch those nature programs on TV and see how cruel nature is I wonder why things are made this way.

Why doesn't he reveal himself in some believable way, without all the confusion demonstrated in religion. God if you are there, please let me know.

I double posted. Maybe some day I will know when I die or won't care since I will be dead.

I think He's out there ... somewhere. There is too much order in the chaos for it to not have been created. But I take more of a deist view of His relationship with us, in that I think He wound up His toys and turned us loose. I think we're on our own.

I don't pray to Him anymore. Well, at least not to ask for any help. I do occasionally express my thanks, usually in the middle of an orgasm or a really good meal.

I never felt like it did any good to ask Him for favors. I figure that either He has a master plan for all of us (which kinda throws the 'free will' concept out the window, and why would He set aside His master plan to deal with my prayer, anyway?) OR He has no plan whatsoever for us, which means He really doesn't give a rat's patoot ... either way, the prayers always seemed like a waste.

I definitely believe in Almighty God, the Creator of everything. And I see many evidences of his existence and continuing love for us. As Dan-O said, there is just too much order in the universe to be an accident. The outstanding example of his love is the death and ressurrection of Jesus. Another example of his love that each of us has experienced is that he helped us get out of the JW organization. Without divine help, it would be easier to escape from Alcatraz than that place.

I replied to this thread but it didn't show, so here it is again. Having any concept of God is useless in terms of knowing him because any and all concepts are mind generated, and God is beyond all concepts. See what happens when all concepts are dropped - perhaps what was looked for will be discovered.
