I was trapped when they described the declaration of international year of peace (1986) as the fulfillment of Bible prophecy of "Peace and Security cry" (1 Thess 5:3)

United Nations churches.
by Ignoranceisbliss init must of been around 1992. i remember all the chatter among local wirnesses was about how the united nations was setting up there own churches around the world.
it seems like there was even a newspaper article to back this up.
it was obvious that this is how governments would finally turn on religion.

Welcome JustMe67. Just fade from them GRADUALLY, put the blame on busy secular commitments. They will do some shepherding calls on you--let them do it, and just listen and let them go. This will spare you of being shunned by them!

Actually we should EXONERATE Jehovah's Witnesses, because
by exWTslave inif a persons final judgment (from the appeal court) of ratifying his imprisonment came late, and if he had already spent equal or more time in judicial custody than the originally decreed term, he is released from jail immediately.
similarly, the very fact that jws depend on the bible (which is actually a babel causing confusion) itself is a punishment which they are serving from 1876longest ever served!.
here is the worth of the bible:.

If a person’s final judgment (from the Appeal Court) of ratifying his imprisonment came late, and if he had already spent equal or more time in Judicial Custody than the originally decreed term, he is released from jail immediately. Similarly, the very fact that JWs depend on the Bible (which is actually a BABEL causing confusion) itself is a punishment which they are serving from 1876—longest ever served!
Here is the worth of the Bible:
1. In one place it says all the sacrifices foreshadow Jesus’s great sacrifice, and in another place it says: God has not given any commandment regarding “offerings and sacrifices.” (Jeremiah 7:22)
2. In one place it says Jesus ascended into heaven after the completion of his earthly ministry, yet in another place it says he ascended into heaven at the very beginning of his ministry, immediately after his baptism: “No one has ever GONE INTO HEAVEN except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.” (John 3:13)
3. In one place it says nothing survives after one dies, yet in other places it says: “His spirit returns to God;” he is “living to God.” (Ecclesiastes 12:7; Luke 20:38)
The list goes endlessly, hence the Bible has the credit of creating over 41,000 warring sects! After knowing this, if an organization bases itself on Bible (rather BABEL) idolizing it and throwing themselves into its bondage....
it only means they are here on earth to ENTERTAIN us, hence EXONERATE them!

Evolution is just a theory
by venting inthis ticks me off!
last sundays watchtower talked about how organised the heavens are.
how it works so acuratley.

"Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing." (Isaiah 40:26) What Isaiah wrote is not scientific, for stars have their natural death at some point!
If the Bible writer himself can go wrong, why not WT?

The Truth About The Truth goes way way way back before Watchtower?
by Island Man inhere's an interesting excerpt from forged by bart ehrman (pay particular attention to the last sentence):.
"a number of the books of the new testament were disputed already in early christianity, among the christian scholars of the second to the fourth centuries, who were arguing over which books should be included in scripture.. the most famous instance is the book of revelation.
a third-century christian scholar of alexandria, egypt, named dionysius, argued that the book was not actually written by jesuss disciple john, the son of zebedee.

Question about dinosaurs, prehistoric creatures, and the eventual appearance of humans.
by pronomono inso i was watching shark week a little while ago and i got to the episode on prehistoric sharks.
they, of course, discussed megalodon, but they also talked about other sharks that were vicious, precise hunters.
then i started thinking about other prehistoric creatures..... t-rex, raptors, etc...... all vicious animals.

To prove Genesis account is wrong, why go externally searching among the fossil record? Bible itself says from Genesis to Deuteronomy are simply fabricated by the priestly class: “‘How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law [TORAH] of the Lord,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?”—Jeremiah 8:8

JWs could be rejected for the very reason Israels first King was rejected!
by exWTslave inking saul was rejected for going beyond what is instructed.
he started preparing for the battle by offering sacrifices as prophet samuel did not turn up even after the stated one week time (1 samuel 10:8 & 13:8); he also did not fully carried out to kill all the amalekites).. would not same principle apply in the case of jws also when they have gone, many times, beyond what is written?
whenever they made changes in their teachings (even in many of their core-teachings), they did go beyond what is written, or acted at lease without having full knowledge!.

Ironically, constantly changing teaching and a God who “never changes” can never be reconciled! (James 1:17)

JW Organization is occasionally spirit-guided! Here is the proof!
by exWTslave inplease follow the sequence of events connected with a bethel and see what you can conclude!.
1) when brach committee took a decision like a money-minded corporation, a conscientious bethelite (who is my close friend) wrote to the gb.. 2) gb took the bc into task, and directed bc to reverse its decision in that particular case.. 3) in time bc took revenge on the bethelite and removed his bethel-eldership on fabricated charges.. 4) gb withdraws the very arrangement of bethel eldership from all its branches!.
5) after one year, bc felt that their revenge was neutralized because of the unexpected withdrawal of bethel-eldership itself, again fabricated charges with the help of false witnesses and dismissed and disfellowshipped that bethelite.. 6) after two years the two bc members who orchestrated all the above events were sent out of bethel in great dishonor, virtually into wilderness ordinary publishers!.

7) In another two years, all those bethelites who acted as false-witness were also dismissed from Bethel
The above sequence of events proves that occasionally there is spirit-guidance in the JW organization (though there is no spirit-guidance in teaching that is constantly changing—something that is not possible with a God who “never changes.”—James 1:17)

Why is shunning wrong?
by noonehome inconsider an example i often hear.
youre sitting at a dinner table.
the topic of conversation is regarding your mother.

Terry,
That is a wonderful thought--" Jesus advocated embracing the stray sheep and not shunning it (Leave the 99 for the 1 stray)"!
If JWs were correct, Jesus would have said: "when you meet a stray sheep, don't even look at it, rather return immediately to the 99!"
Shunning is wring from God's view, but right in my view--because it helps me to reinforce my resolve not to be a JW again!
