  i was on this board a lot when i faded and left 6 years ago but not been on much since.

  is there any thread/s in particular to read showing the changes in the past 5 years?

  or any kind willing person who has time to summarise them as a reply below??

  WOW! I'm reeling here trying to take it all in. There have been unbelievably major and numerous changes in a relatively short space of time. It's incredible!! The GB seem lost and panicky, flustering on the next move. I'm gonna reread this thread (yet again) and comment on a couple of them

  Dreams

  so the other night i had a dream.

  in it and i was in someone else's house, first scene i was cleaning the floor and found money, coins, in one of the crevices, second scene husband looks at me i look at him, hmmmm some chemistry, third scene i am in bed sleeping when i feel someone entering the bed, i know it is a man and when i opened my eyes i could see he has 3 green eyes.

  he had a third eye on his forehead but at the same level of the other two.

  how did u feel about the dreams? scared, happy, out of control, etc? how did u feel when u woke up?

  i find that once i can answer those questions, I'm much better able to figure out the meanings. it's a personal thing rather than x in a dream always means y in ur life, ya know?

  had an interesting discussion at work today.

  sat down at a table with 4 of my younger workers.

  somehow it came up that one's mother was a jehovah witness, and one had dated a jw girl before.

  The jw who called on me today proudly stated that an elder told him that all jws are a little bit weird and crazy. It helps apparently. I said, I left so I wonder what that says about me. Was i too weird or not weird enough?! He laughed at that :D

  i felt quite sorry for him in the end.. for context, i was brought up as a jw since i was very young.

  i left 6 years ago (faded) a little before turning 30. i was on here a lot around that time but under a different profile that's no longer active.. for the past 18 months, i'm back living in the territory of the congregation i grew up in.

  I would like to think there was one or two things I said that at the very least made him think. Towards the end he asked me to keep an open mind about what he'd said, which I said I would (PAH! ) . I followed up by saying that if there was anything I had said that made him curious that I hoped he would give himself permission to look up more about it later when he was back in his home. You never know I suppose....

  @Baltar and Apognophos I would LOVE to know what was going on in his life aroung the time he gave himself the choice of Cult No.1 or Cult No.2. I didn't dare ask today but if he ever has the balls to return I will. I mean if that's gonna improve your life, how bad was it previously?!

  @Laika yeah he was alone, although two other witnesses walked past as he was talking to me. I didn't know him but did know one of the jws who walked by. Got a very 'unchristian' stare from her too!

  Any Suggestions on what to say if elders ask why you stopped going in FS?

  i was curious what might be some good things to say if i am questioned by the elduurs about my decline in fs.

  anything too honest may get me a jc (although that would be for the best in the end..) the co visit is this week so they may be getting more agressive than usual.

  For context, I was brought up as a jw since I was very young. I left 6 years ago (faded) a little before turning 30. I was on here a LOT around that time but under a different profile that's no longer active.

  For the past 18 months, I'm back living in the territory of the congregation I grew up in. My jw parents are in that cong and my sister and her family are in the neighbouring one. Since moving, I've been called on by jws I once knew but when they see who it is, they usually just make small talk for a little while and then leave. Not so today. This guy spent quite a long time talking to me but not doing the hard sell. It was the first time I think ever I've had any level of two way conversation with a jw. We spoke about their practise of disfellowshipping, conditional friendships, happiness after leaving, their inability to look at anything that's negative of the witnesses, recent court cases and their consequences. It was kinda mind-blowing how little comeback he had to anything I said to him. We were talking about disfellowshipping and how that cuts people and their children away from their families. He said he knew of a jw who was maintaining a relationship with her df daughter. I replied, 'i have huge respect for her but we both know that she was breaking policy to do that.' Silence and a nod of genuine acknowledgment. 'And,' i continued 'you wont be telling anyone you call on this morning about that side of things, will you?'

  Turns out he went through some sort of 'journey' and began looking for religion a number of years ago. He said he had it narrowed down to two, Jehovah's Witnesses and Scientology!!! Did he chose the lesser of two evils? Or not??
