An important question for active JW's
by Honesty inif you and a fellow jehovah's witness went to a house where the homeowner brought up a watchtower doctrine which you secretly disagree with, would you defend it or tell them what it is you really believe?.
either way you are at a loss.. defending something you disagree with is living a lie and telling a lie.
not defending it and telling the home owner what you really believe makes you an apostate by watchtower society standards.

"Deep down inside even they know it is BS." Discuss
by rory-ks innope, bungi bill's interesting statement from this post didn't take, so i'll start its own.. from my own experience, i hated the field ministry.
it might just be because of the kind of character i am, whatever, i never was able to overcome that feeling of dread every time i went door-to-door.
i felt aware of how much people disliked having strangers cold-calling trying to sell them something.

Dude. Bottom line. These guys got REALLY stinkin' rich off of fooling people. They are not going to stop. Even if the rats are jumping off of the sinking ship they will continue to ride this pony until the bottom of the ocean. It's all about the money.

Turnersville Assembly Hall
by jdubsnub inthe congregation i'm associated with had their assembly recently and i decided to go for one day.
i could not believe how much it felt like one of those mega churches you see on tv.
they've added now 2 very large tv screens on each side of the speaker as well as a monstrous projection screen above.

The Watchtower: Does This Game Of Jenga Ever End?
by metatron inthere are a great many fine posts here - and some from 8 years back - detailing how apathetic and perfunctory the organization has become.. and yet, it still stands, doesn't it?.
is there any point to be reached in this apparent 'experiment in sociology' in which they wake up and say 'screw this?
' if they crammed 10 congregations into one hall and stole the money, would any witnesses wake up?

I agree that even if this POS cult went down in flames of real estate laundering fraud or other GB misconduct -- it wouldn't matter to many who believe all the twisted nonsense. These people have nothing else to hold on to other than their family may have died believing in this crap; they feel mis understood and victimized.
These people are so used to the condescending attitudes reigned down in this pyramid they wouldn't know what else to do with themselves.

JW.Org
by Kool Jo ini've been pondering......with this new "push" to direct individuals to thw jw.org website, even when the dubs are out preaching...what do you think the future will be for the preaching work?.
some time ago i read that the mormons have implemented a live chat feature that allows you to speak with their missionaries....i doubt the borg would do this, but i think they have something up their sleeves.. peace.

My PERSONAL Complaint concerning Jehovah's Witnesses
by fulltimestudent ini was not much more than 16 when i became interested in the jws.
i was an idealistic, unrealistic (read, romantic) kid, concerned at the suffering of so many people as a result of ww2 and its aftermath.. i guess that made me an ideal target for the kingdom message.
but strangely the person who told me about the witnesses wasn't one.. where i worked, we often had quite deep discussions during morning tea breaks, and a non-witness kept bringing up the ideas of the witnesses.

The one thing fed by this POS organization is the narcissists ego.

Who knows. You have to get to a point of "Enough Already" Enough ambient abuse. Enough Shunning. Enough real estate laundering. Enough selfishness and arrogance. Enough already. I don't want to be treated like that any more. That day may come. Who knows.
It happend in a watershed event with people like Jimmy Swaggert, 700 club, Jim Jones, and the guy from waco tx.

An Anti-Witnessing Campaign, Please Join Me!
by What Now? inin the past few weeks, the shunning issue has become a very personal one for me, and i have begun to realize that it is not just enough for me and my family to fade out.
after some recent events, i am motivated to start some anti-watchtower activism of my own.. i, like many others, have hoped that there would be a scandal of epic proportions within the organization, something that would wake others up and trigger a mass exodus.. while i am still hopeful that this may happen, it seems that the organization is too good at damage control, and heightening the paranoia surrounding apostates.. but what if the ex-witness community tried a different approach?.
what if, to borrow a hockey term, a sort of shut out situation was created?.

I put a big valentine heart on my door. It says "Be My Valentine." and it has little stickers all over it. "Jesus Saves" and "Love God." "Love Jesus."
I think of it as JW insect repelent.
