last year i decided to attend the memorial.
i came in last minute and ended up sitting at the end of the row.
when the symbols were passed out they skipped me and gave to the person next to me.
I believe the person just had a grudge against you or simply messed up.
All in attendance are supposed to pass the emblems. Who has the right to remove that entitlment from you and choose who can and cannot pass them? That'd be like someone saying you can't pray when you are DF'ed.

Has something changed? Not sure I remeber hearing that C.T. Russell was recently demoted to nothing more than a seeker of truth.
Can anyone explain this?
the whole organization is going through huge and big changes.
it can be seen by names of departments, to how things function and teaches.
my questions to you is, what do you think the future changes will be, both in teaching and organizational matters?.
Thank you for adding points to what I said. Some good points have already been brought up.
I was hoping to hear other peoples thoughts on future changes. If anyone has any please feel free to post.

Here are my thoughts:
1914 - Something is going to change with that date. I think everyone knows something is fishy with this. The process to come up with that number alone leaves a lot of possible errors.
Disfellowshipping - I actually think this one is going to be lax-ed more in the future. It'll be harder for it to happen and easier to come back. How everything is going around the world, eventually this will have to change. Numbers seem to matter more and more.
Blood Issue's - There are already a ton of "loop holes" they found where a person can get fractions of blood. This will most likely see future changes. To me, if God meant no blood it should mean no blood no matter what portion of it you take.
Elders - I think power is going to actually be taken from them in the next few years. It's common knowledge everywhere that most are power hungry and out for the looks. I don't know how this will change, maybe a branch delegate coming down to handle big matter or what not. I really think we will see changes in this issue.
Less focus on the "end" - I have already witnessed this one. The end coming soon used to be 99% of the publications even the ones we studied at the Kingdom Hall. They are a lot more focused on teaching people how to preach and listening to the GB than on the “end”. They’re giving less and less attention about the "end". Minus a few occurrences here and there when using it as a scare tactic.
Just some thoughts, wonder what yours are!
before the recent change, faithful and discreet slave represented every anointed individual that partook.
anyone who was or claimed to be anointed was part of this faithful class.
however, a problem arose with this.
Before the recent change, Faithful and Discreet Slave represented every anointed individual that partook. Anyone who was or claimed to be anointed was part of this Faithful class. However, a problem arose with this. If all anointed and those who claimed to be anointed were part of the Faithful and Discreet Slave, it gave them a term of power. They could technically give their own thoughts and reasoning on scriptures along with teachings. They were part of providing spiritual food to others. They could write letters to the branch about certain teachings, they could teach those in the congregation their thoughts and interpretation on scriptures. Do you see how this could become a problem? The branch or GB does not have full power with this understanding in place.
Something needed to be done. Somehow they needed to take the type of power that all Anointed had and give it to the GB exclusively. How would that be done? They needed to change who the Faithful and Discreet Slave was! If it no longer applied to all anointed they could no longer give that "food" or their own thoughts without raising eye brows. So how do we transfer all this power to only the GB and take it away from all anointed?
The Faithful and Discreet Slave are now only those who are part of the Governing Body! Individually they are the Faithful and Discreet Slave but when they come together they are the GB. Only they can now give the food at the proper time. All other anointed now have to go along with what the GB says and only give the GB interpretation of the scriptures.
Power is now restored!
On a side note, is it hard for anyone else to login to this site? It takes me about 20 times before I get the security code right, it is very hard to see what the letters are.
i was raised a jw and i am still one but recently i have been having trouble believing in a god.
this is not meant to offend anyone who does, i am just curious to see if i am the only one who thinks this..... to start, i am a very black and white person.
if 1+1=2 it makes sense to me and i can agree with it.
marmot, sometimes I wonder if that is what I am at heart. I can't say I was born in a zealous family. I'm what you would have called a "B-School" family. I have become more spiritual then my family ever was.

Laika - I understand what you are trying to say but what is the point in providing a book that has laws, principles and guidelines if they weren't meant to be followed. What is the point of a religion if it isn't around god's word unless they do not believe in the bible? You'd have to believe in a different god then the one of the bible.

jgnat - I'm not sure. I can't look at all the earth has and spac and think that it simply came to be. That doesn't make sense either. If I believed that god has always existed why can't I believe that life has always existed?

To start, I am a very black and white person. If 1+1=2 it makes sense to me and I can agree with it. It's when 1+1=4 or 10 that doesn't make sense, that I start to question. Here is what I have trouble in, in regards to believing a god exists.
1. God, the smartest being in the world used a written text as the best way to "communicate" with humans. Not just communicate, but give a way of life that must be lived if you want to have any hope for the future.
2. This best way to communicate can be translated wrong. Not only translated wrong, but can be interoperated 10,000 different ways by 10,000 different individuals.
3. This goes even further. This best way of communication that can be translated wrong and interoperated wrong wants you to only worship him one way. This communication device that created thousands of religions wants you to find the correct one out of all the other thousands of "wrong" ones. If you do not find this 1 correct one out of the thousands of wrong ones based off of a text god gave as a communication device, you will be destroyed.
Am I the only one who sees a major flaw in all of this? How is there any logic behind that? There are literally 10,000 different religions based off of the bible who all feel in their heart that they are serving god and doing what is right. How can that same god who provided this text withdrawal eternal hope because a person did not find a true path when so many exist?
Again, I am not trying to offend anyone who believes in a God but it just doesn't add up in my head.
