All of Jesus parables have been simplified. They no longer were prophecy fulfilled around the 1914 era. All evil slaves etc are just a warning now. Talents just means gifts all have been given. There are no longer meanings to every little thing that they use to apply around the 1914 date.
JW TV station along with video ondemand which will allow people to also tie in for family worship
2014 service year peaked at over 8 million - 19.5 and counting for memorial
New app featuring 4k different phrases in different languages
New videos, music videos etc...
100k requests for bible studies over the last 2 years on JW.org 550 languges, 700 publications in different languages, 1.5 unique visotors daily from August to September
Bethelites can now go to pioneer school
Types and Antitypes don't apply as much as they use to and they said, "Where the bible is silent, we must be silent"
Gog of Maygog "Is most likely the king of the north and not satan now"
Pocket size edition of the new bible
New audio bible is being completed, different voice for every character

can anyone verify the new "basic pioneer" rumor?
by Chris Tann inso it's rumored started by one member that there is a new pioneer rank called basic pioneer, announced at annual meeting.
can anyone verify this is true?
everything else presented at the meeting has been verified except this.
-
thedepressedsoul
Let me confirm these rumors
1) This is 100% not true in regards to 10 hours
2) Nothing of this sort was mentioned at the annual meeting - Only change to the service meeting is that after Jan we will be going over the new songs during the servive meeting.
3)No but Bethelites will now be able to attend pioneer school

Do the Governing Body believe their own teachings or know it's a lie? Are they atheists?
by BucketShopBill inthe new young blood gb member, you think he really thinks this is the truth or is he protecting his financial interest like all the older gb members who enjoy basking in glory of men?
do you think they believe in the "over-lapping generation" or was that a mistake done by barr?.
how much of the watchtower and the bible do the governing body know, ray franz jr. said he was not impressed with their bible knowledge and their lack of knowledge of the watchtower cannon.

@designs, we won't know until Jesus comes again and tells us fully how he wants to be followed. The bible in it's current state can be taken way too many different ways for any resonable god to hold a humans life to it.
I will be more then happy to follow Jesus and God 100% to the T when they are willing to show us how.

Another reason I know they know its complete BS:
A friend of mine said he was talking to a member and they told him they can feel god's spirit moving and directing them during their meetings. I flag went off in my head when he said that. They know it's 100% bs and making a statement like that proves it.

1914 or 1934 ?
by Chris Tann ini have thoroughly researched the watchtower doctrine of 1914, and am convinced it is neither biblically or historically correct.
but every now and then i wonder how ironic it is that world war 1 did start in that year, also pestilence and famine perused.
maybe, just maybe the witnesses are correct.

Honestly, 1914 should not matter to a Christian. Christians are supposed to live by the bible until his second coming, no matter what date or time frame. All dates do is get people excited.
Imagine if 1914 is 100% not correct? That means The JW had millions of people worship a date that does not exist and celebrate its 100 year birthday. To make it even worse, is that it is a pagan date that Russell helped to base off of Pagan Egyptians.
Now that will be a heavy load for these men to carry and answer for if Jesus does come a second time...

To make this even more interesting, how many of you think they actually believe in 1914? haha

I've actually pondered this very question for some time. I've come to the conclusion that there are some that feel it is BS, a few who do not agree with all of the teachings and maybe a few that actually believe they are God's gift to men. Let me go into a little more details.
The reason I think some if not most think this is complete BS is because you do not get that high up in any organization without thinking outside the box and careful planning and goal setting. These men are not dumb and they do not follow their teaching of "thinking inside the box only". Think about this too, we know maybe 10-20% of all of the WT secrets and dark history, these men most likely have had access to it all and have been told it all. Knowing what little we know about their dark history and the darkness that goes on inside turned us off, can you image believing it is the truth knowing everything? I highly doubt it...
Now, my reason for some not believing in all the teachings is as follows. Franz made a comment in his book that even if individuals did not agree with the current understanding they had to be "in union" and only bring out the current teachings in their talks. They set an example out of those who did not follow this. I'm sure many disagreed with the generation change, the internet, 1914 I can't even imagine any of them believing that etc... Remember, there are those on the GB that probably did not vote in favor of those teachings and have to act as if they believe them just as in Franz day.
Last but not least are those who may believe 100%. I find this one hard to believe. These men are thinkers and I can only imagine the thought and ways they came up with to make the "generation" term fit to their teachings vs what the bible says. I would be very surprised if there were those on the board that had 0 doubt. You would have to be naive to not question a thing at that level.
Just my 2 cents, at the end of the day we all sh** on a toilet and it's no different with those men.

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?
by Quarterback insome may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.
-
thedepressedsoul
I don't think that letter has anything to do with them losing toe DF'ing arrangement.
I also can't see them doing away with it either. There are two possible outcomes I see.
1. Shunning becomes more of an unspoken rule. Instead of them publishing it directly they hint at it and people view you badly if you talk to them. Kind of like with the Twilight movies. They didn't come right out and say not to watch them but if you did tell people that they'd ignore you.
2. There becomes different classes of DF'ing. Apostates remain the same and ones who get DF'ed for minor things can go out in service or are able to be up built by people in the congregation.
Honestly though, I don't see any changes coming in this regard. If anything, they will be tightened. By the Nov. WT and those videos to the elders on JWSurvey.com show that it may even become more hardcore. Heck the kid was willing to call it off that week and they still DF'ed him.

JW.org is a DIFFERENT religion from the WT and Kingdomhall
by EndofMysteries inhas anybody else noticed the huge 180 degree under the public jw.org vs the material in the study articles?
other than jw.org showing that shunning of family and those who left the religion does not happen, yet in the kingdomhall and wt is does happen.
look at jwborgs stance on quitting school and getting higher education.... http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/teenagers/ask/quit-school/ can anybody show one wt that says what is in the borg website?
-
thedepressedsoul
Wow, this is very sickening to see.... There is a clear difference between JW.org and the WT study articles. I've never read in a WT about setting education goals, etc...!
I am definitely going to start finding stuff on JW.org to use to my advantage esp. since their writing apparently trump the bible!
