  Talesin - My scree name is nothing about me, it's actually about Job haha.

  Everything in life is equal, everything has negative and positive aspects. It's up to each person to choose what is more valuable to them and what seems to have the better positives vs negatives for that person.

  Right now what I have chosen to do outweighs the negatives in my mind. I want to be very clear, IN MY MIND. It may be the exact opposite for another person.

  When the positives no longer outweigh the negatives in my mind I will have no problem making the adjustments and pulling a complete 360 to put myself back into a situation where the positives outweigh the negatives.

  Talsein, for you the better option in your mind may have been to leave. Don't ever doubt that and when you make a choice, stick with that choice and have confidence that you made the right decision because that is YOUR choice. It'll help you in the future when you are faced with your next decision. Trust you are making the right decision. If it ends up being the wrong one, use it as a learning tool instead of doubting yourself.

  God & JW can't exist without "evil"

  i was thinking the other day that so far jw's and god have always needed or relied on "evil" to get items done or taken care of.

  almost every bible prophecy and jw teaching would not exist without "evil".. let's take the prophecy of jesus for example, it would not have been fulfilled without evil.

  when you think about it, he was a needed evil in order for prophecy to be fulfilled.

  Hold me - But we can never know if he would or would not have been greedy in that situation because it was all stated before hand. You could say it was greed but was it? Did he not need that greed to fulfill prophecy, and was it not stated beforehand that he would be greedy?

  “They paid my wages, 30 pieces of silver.” Zech 11:12, 13. His greed was stated before he was even born. Would he have actually been a greedy person? We'll never know.

  That's the great thing about the bible, it can be taken 50 different ways and you can argue 50+ different beliefs from it and it's all BS in the end!

  Great point Slidin! As a JW you can't do holidays, oral, yoga, color runs etc... because of pagan origins. Yet, you can do most of the traditional celebrations in a wedding including rings. Yet, all of that stuff has pagan origins!

  I'd like to also add that it's impossible to live life without being a hypocrite and most other bad and good traits as man puts it. Honestly, the quicker you realize you have all of these traits at your disposal and you can choose what aspects to apply in different situations, you'll truly be free.

  In chess, who do you think will win, the man who only sees the good moves, or the player that sees both good and bad moves for both sides and is able to discern which one needs to be played in that situation?
  

  The religion does display hypocrisy traits. Even more than that they are excellent cherry pickers!

  Thanks Orphan, I'm an interesting person, what can I say. I feel bad for those that are consumed and are shaped by man made words.

  We're all hypocrites. Most haven't realized it yet or can't admit it. When you realize that all of these "bad" words have good and useful traits and vice verse, you'll be better off. You'll be more balanced, in control and equal then you could ever have imagined.

  Every elders meeting and ministerial meeting the CO touches on porn. He even took a moment of silence for anyone to come forward that have viewed these things. A lot of men in positions were squirming in their seats haha. Talk about awkward!

  Hold me - So dooming a humans life to an evil act that they have no say in is acceptable? Referring to Judas.

  Often times the one enforcing the laws and punishment are the ones doing the evil behind the scenes.

  tiki - You're right, I don't mind though. I'm use to hearing that word in JW talks exactly like you just put it.

  I also feel hypocrisy is needed/required when getting out of or dealing with this religion. If you're not willing to accept that, it's going to be a lot harder. Also, the only reason hypocrisy is viewed as a bad thing is because that's what we were raised to believe and how society views it. I tend to go outside the box.

  Xanthippe - No I'm not. Just not ready to 100% leave yet. In time I will though. Like all moves I make, they're well calculated, planned and patiently executed. I view life like a chess board.
