we all know that thanksgiving is coming up, and i always wanted to bring this up.

when i was a younger man (i'm 29 now) growing up in south los angeles we used to go to magic mountain on thanksgiving lol.

i know it sounds strange, but thats what we did !.

i have words that irritate me and not always without reason.. my latest hate is the word: 'solutions' as used by so many businesses in their title these days.

y'know, 'something innane business solutions' and such balderdash.. i loathe that word now.

"Jehovah's spirit is being blocked in the congregation"

so, how many times have we heard this expression (or a variation of it):.

"jehovah's spirit seems to be blocked here in the congregation...perhaps he is bringing something to light...etc".

it seems that the org often uses this expression, and links it with the "fact" that god wont bless a cong as much,(or at all) if there is "stuff" or "sins" being carried out.. so, why is it then that the cong i am in is experiencing its best years of activity in all aspects?

Cult classic, I've always felt guilty about masturbation as a teen, but a part of me reasoned that it was more tolerable to Jehovah compared to pre-marital sex, so I chose the lesser evil. To be honest, I didn't think about the flow of holy spirit in the cong, I was more concerned about finding a way to surpress my natural desires!

i will have plenty of "snark" to post later on, but please indulge me while i get this out of my system..... suppose you are the leaders...yes, the leaders...there are only 7 of you...for the one true religion in all the universe.. jehovah the god of the whole universe speaks to you, you alone, out of 7 billion+ people on teh planet.. you have an opportunity, thanks to the advancements in technology, to speak to 750,000 of your followers "live", and another 750,000 or so within 24 hours.. 1.5 million people!

this is the first time in history you can simultaneously, or nearly simultaneously, address so many of your adherents.. what message are you going to present for this special occasion?.

Witness my fury, the decision to appoint has to be unanimous. So even if there are 10 elders & only 1 is against, you are screwed. I found that out when I pestered one of the elders about why I was being held back despite being qualified

Thank you all for your encouraging words. Kate, unfortunately it's gonna take a while, it won't be so soon. It would be so much easier if I didn't have family in. Millie, I have seen other writers in here who have better skills than me. I hope the relationship works out well, it's too early to say at the moment. As for the elders, there are good ones too... the problem is that they can't stand up to the @$$holes. Stuck, I've read many of your posts before & can recall the situation you are in. Hang in there pal, we're on the same boat!
