Are your family overseas "in the truth"? My sympathies to you if they are, especially if you were bombarded with "spiritual talk" -

Will the resurrected marry/have children?
by davidmitchell ini have just finished reading 'brock talon's' two books.
in one of them, entitled journey to god's house, pub.
he comments on how the wt's pictures of the post-armageddon world do not agree with their doctrines, namely that those who are physically resurrected will not marry/have children.

Just went to take a look at the link which you gave -
http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20140815/jesus-sadducees-marriage-after-resurrection/
The last paragraph states:
Understandably, we may have many questions about life in the new world. Rather than needlessly speculating on the answers to those questions, we will just have to wait and see.
So we should not needlessly speculate. Fair enough
HOWEVER.....
If you read the 2nd paragraph of the answer, it states:
For years, our publications have said that Jesus’ words about the resurrection and getting married likely refer to the earthly resurrection and that those resurrected to life in the new world will evidently not marry.
So who was speculating??? By the WT's own admission, they are the ones who are guilty of it!!! After all, JW speculations are based on WT publications themselves!!!

Revelations monsters and beasts just a retelling of the monsters of Tiamat?
by Crazyguy inin my studies i have found that much of the bible is a retelling of older stories from babylon, sumerian, and egypt.
it's starting to look to me as though the writer of the book of revelations may have used the idea of tiamat 's monsters as his templet when writing about the beasts in this book.
one similarity is the scorpion men or the men depicted as having scorpions tales that will ride around and kill a third of the earth.

It's funny how someone can make stupid shit up and centuries later you have hundreds of millions of people believing these ridiculous writings and claiming to understand how these are prophecies relating to world events! -

God, Love, and Marriage vs. WTBTS dogma - when this one scripture is so plain....!
by Muddy Waters ingot to thinking about this the other day.... you know how the wts uses a scripture from ecclesiastes (ecc.4:12) to say how important it is to have jehovah in your marriage -- that a two-fold cord is easily broken or pulled apart, but a "three-fold cord is not easily broken".
they then go on to define exactly who and what jehovah is and what exactly this love & marital arrangement means and how you properly show and demonstrate it, and blah blah blah and all the things jehovah (through his organization) says are so necessary and important for a happy marriage (from their special bias and agenda, the preaching work!
- and meeting attendance & preparation, and studying the bible together and the husband taking the lead, and all that jw filler which they define and obligate for others to do -- they define every term and behavior and expectation to the nth degree.. then it occurred to me, that there's that scripture which says: "god is love.".

However, can't see anyone liking or putting a ring on any of the single sisters in my cong anytime soon! -

How do you manage to keep JW friendships after you left the organization?
by Bonsai init seems incredibly difficult.
those who leave the org.
(or fade) no longer have anything in common with jehovah's witnesses, nor do they want to stick around to get radiated by the fear and guilt that saturates every aspect of a witnesses' life.. i've lost all but one of my jw friends quite simply because i can no longer condone the evil things that they condone.

Most of those I am on good terms with are from other congs who don't know that I'm fading. For some reason, I tend to get along better with those from other congs rather than my own!
In my cong of around 100 people, I can only view one as a good friend! The rest are merely acquaintances, sad to say...

Why must sisters wear skirts?
by purrpurr inand or dresses?
just what is wrong with a smart pair of trousers?
i'm sure that the women would not start behaving like men or imagining that they have a dick!.

Never saw the logic of it. After all, jeans are ok!
Besides, it's ok for brothers to wear kilts, so why not vice-versa?

Is it necessary to prepare for the Watchtower or book study?
by BashfulAshG inall of my years in the truth, i never understood why we had to study before each meeting.
the contents are self-explanatory with the answers to the printed question within the first or the last sentence of the paragraph.
then, commenting never made sense, especially comments and experiences that don't answer the printed question.

I alwaya thought that underlining or highlighting the answers in the magazine was stupid - wouldn't you not KNOW the answer without having to use a pen / highlighter??? However, I did do that to my magazine - forced to do so during family study (also for the sake of appearances, to look good & "spiritual)
