we have been told this week that all in the elder and ms body will be read a letter from the gb about "make this the greatest month of activity ever"..... has anyone else had such a letter read out in their cong / servant body?.
i presume it will be all about "recommending strongly/insisting" that all these men should pioneer for the month?.
I'm not sure myself, but just guessing.....
Most likely, the letter would place strong emphasis on getting all elders & MSs to "set examples for the rest of the flock by having a full share"
"Having a full share" would almost certainly mean to pioneer
In other words, if they have NO GOOD REASON NOT TOO, then they MUST pioneer
i just wanted to get a feel for how many here have awakened to ttatt but are still carrying on some jw activities to pacify them and keep the peace.
also trying to hear from those who have left, but whose spouse has stayed in the wt and in the marriage.. for me it comes down to my own mental anguish.
i am mentally tortured by attending the meetings, yet i feel compelled to because my wife would kill me with her personality if i had her drag 2 small girls by herself there.

This thread doesn't affect me personally. However, it's funny to see 10 guys posting here whose WIVES are still in and no ladies complaining about husbands still in!

Billy, don't think invitations & thank you cards are a problem, if the handing out is done discreetly. On the other hand, business & money matters even if conducted discreetly are discouraged, in line with John 2: 16

a witness couple just called on me.
they know i have'nt been to the hall for a few months but have no idea that i am "off reservation" in more ways than one.. they called by to tell me they that due to the "unloving spirit" in our.
congregation they will be going to another hall from now on.. the husband has been having ongoing "issues" with the cobe for some time ( iow,he hates his guts).. they feel that if they move to another cong where the people are nicer everything will be ok. (yeah, right).
I have done this myself, but not to the extent of changing congs. Left a field service group which had rigid & overbearing elders for one which had a much more pleasant atmosphere

my friend, mike works as a massage therapist, and there is a woman at the shop that is super-jw-woman and is constantly hounding him with things.. today, he's messaging me and he tells me that she was trying to push a brochure or something on him.
he said he'd really rather not read a religious pamphlet.. so... she says, "it's not religious... it's from god.".
isn't that kinda what religious means?
Some pubs in my cong used to tell the householder: "We are not here to change your religion". Which was absolute bull**** as we were indeed there to change their religion! Anyway, it was brought to their attention and this phrase is no longer used
it seems the watchtower staff have made a runaway train with the introduction of the mark jw.org.. the combination of using a gadget driven platform and the fact that the common jw is low educated and easely influenced.
by new occurrings in their religion makes the situation getting out of hand.. proof: gb members wearing jw.org buttons during their speech, gifts with jw.org are given away, umbrellas with the jw.org are available.
jw.org is more important then god, his son and the gospel.. it's the gadget and the jw.org mark that counts.. i am so happy my grandparents are not confronted with these idiots.. it's a runaway train heading to the end of the track.. gorby .
They have to rebrand as many people have a negative connotation towards the title "Jehovah's Witnesses" =P
