What do you think? Prison guards man-handle a young native Australian.
by fulltimestudent inthe desert areas of central australia, the so-called 'red heart' of the nation, still has a significant population of original australians.
and many of them seem to have difficulty with the law.*.
that's a very brief and simplistic introduction to this video of prison guards in the alice springs jail, manhandling a young boy.

Oh I do enjoy a good laugh. I watched the Naked Gun movie last night I was surprised at
how funny it still is or maybe I was just in the mood for some silliness. Leslie Neilson is so
funny the way he plays it straight. In the beginning of the movie a cop gets shot (O.J Simpson?)
and gets sent to the "Our Lady of the Worthless Miracle" Hospital soo funny.
We all need to laugh more.
What is yor fave comedy?

Just 2 questions regarding the U.S. law around sex abuse
by joe134cd ini just have 2 questions regarding the u.s law around sex abuse.. (1) in this country it is quite common for the events of a sex abuse trial, to have suppression orders placed on it.
one i can think of was when the offender was given name suppression because to identify the abuser would also mean identifying the victim, so hence both were given name suppression.
now with regard to the out of court settlements and gag orders by the watchtower, and yes i do realise that the wt would have the most to benefit by doing this.

Sounds like this religion dealt you quite a shitty hand Blondie. Sorry you and many others have to live with that.
What is paticularly cruel is the men in the congregation the family "heads" blah, blah are supposed
to be the ones protecting the flock. Truly wolves in sheeps clothing.

Indigenous Australians, especially up north have many struggles with
alcohol and drug abuse mental health issues crippling poverty and unemployment
domestice violence, children born with feotal alcohol syndrome and the list goes on and on.
This kind of generational abuse and dysfunction is so sad and I wish there were easy answers
but sadly there are not. The police and guards have a difficult job to do .

Sister in congregation diagnosed w/AML Leukemia. I'm so mad right now.
by azor ini just need to vent.
i want to scream from the rooftops right now.
life is hard enough when you battle blood cancer but is an unnecessary evil put upon good people by this evil cult.

This is awful.
We had five different sisters die in my cong because of not taking heart meds, going the natropath route.
As well as leaving hospital and refusing treatments. The cong stood by and did nothing to encourage
taking better care of ones health. Two of the sisters died at home and were discovered by non- witness
neighbours a week later.
Oh this religion is dangerous.

How can I ever leave this cult?
by Julia Orwell ini've been out nearly two years but it's not out of me.
i am on school holidays now til february so i thought without work to worry about i can come off my medication.
i phased it slowly, starting in early november to avoid the physical side effects of coming down.

I feel your pain Julia, I have real trust issues myself since leaving a year ago.
And dare I say it "men" issues. Which I didn't have before becoming a witness.
I do not consider myself a feminist as I quite like men, and I have always gotten along with them, better
than other women actually. But in the congregation women's opinions are neither needed nor wanted.
We are not viewed as having any value apart from homemaker or support system for the men.
At worst, the mysogynist elders viewed women as bad, mad or irrelevant.
This really eats into your self esteem, and you can start to believe it yourself.
It can really hard tapering off meds and that can affect mood as well.
Just take it day by day, that's what I am doing, waking up and leaving the truth is a big deal
it takes time for the grieving process to run it's course, give yourself time and patience and love.

There are posters here that not only attend meetings, they help with "presiding" over them,
maybe they could answer your question, as to the best way to live amongst JWs while pretending
to be one of them.
