Canadian branch getting rid of their trucks and drivers
by wannaexit ina recent letter to the elders outlined the new arrangement for delivering literature to the congregations.
the canadian branch will be downsizing by eliminating drivers and trucks and utilizing commercial carriers to bring the boxes of monthly literature .
more outsourcing and more lay offs.. the funny thing about it is that they want to have the literature delivered to various private homes of the rank and file rather than have the literature delivered to the kingdom hall.

Where I live, it gets delivered by commercial courier to a centrally located brother's house and then the lit servant from each cong picks it up from there and takes it home to his house. -

JWs nearly killed my mother
by cookiemaster inthe past week has been hell for me.
my mother started feeling ill and we went to seek medical assistance.
we live in the mountains and the nearest large hospital is about 150 kms away.

So glad loving care and common sense prevailed for your mum.
My friend who is a witness went through a similar situation when her mother needed a transfusion. The JW family requested erythropoitin and the hospital didn't said they didn't stock it as it is too expensive and they would have to order it in, which would take days. They ended up using whole blood and the lady was ok.
But what really pissed me off was that my friend's mother wasn't even one of JWs, it was my friend who didn't want her to have blood!!

As a Matter of Conscience, I Am Resigning from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Sail Away inafter listening to the hearings of the australian royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse, i am no longer content to have simply walked away from the organization.
as a matter of conscience, i do not want my name linked with the organization in any way.

Oh yeah, they are just bullies in a suit and tie.
Sometimes all it takes is a few to storm the barricades and the rest will find their courage to do the same.

When I think of the perks this religion must be eligible for, for it's not for profit status it makes me angry.
They are a religion of free-loading bums.

Remember the two elderly sisters?
by John Aquila inabout a month ago i posted what had happened to two elderly sisters who were reprimanded by a couple of elders for crying because the jw broadcasting was going to be stopped at the kingdom hall and it was up to each publisher to learn how to use the internet.
if you recall the sisters got together with my mom and talked about it and it resulted in all of them declining to make meals for the pioneers.
here is the link.

Maybe not cultbegone, but it will bog things down that have up till now been a given.
The more legislation they have to work around the more difficult it will become for anyone "reaching out."
