  My Mother Died Two Weeks Ago

  Losing a parent is bad enough but this cult makes it even harder by taking away your right to grieve with the rest of your family.

  Just dropped the bomb

  after a long struggle with myself, i did send a sms to my mother this morning, telling her i didn't want to go to the meeting, and that i no longer believe in the organisation, don't really believe in god any more either but i put that out.

  i wrote about three things that i thought are obvious, the overlapping generation that doesn't make sense, the flood an the animals in australia- how they came there.

  and jw tv that makes them look as any other religion.

  It is indeed quite the internal struggle between being true to yourself and not, but I believe you made the right choice in being honest.

  Nothing may come of it, so don't sweat it, you'll cross that bridge if and when etc etc.

  Don't let anyone shame you for being honest.

  Something that I feel is very culty is how JWs will attempt (and in the case of converts succeed) to do is alter a persons perception of reality. They essentially teach the flock to reject reality and substitute it with their own.

  Also when JWs talk it makes my brain hurt.

  I have wondered if they are systematically amputating all the money draining extremities such as the branches, volunteers that recieve an allowance, superfluous KHs, printed material, and anything and everything except for The Warwick compound and the Website.

  Then when they have divested themselves of all that bulk they then focus their attentions on attracting the rich and powerful and becoming a small group dedicated to the elite. A niche religion.
