You do have a right to ask exactly when this will be happening you know.

You need to inform yourself of your own parental rights, you do have them. Ask a lawyer for advice if you need to.

Your son may hate you for stopping him at the moment and could send him running into the loving bosom of the borg. So it seems like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

So you need to decide what you would prefer to be damned for - trying to get him to postpone or letting it go ahead and hoping and waiting for him to wake up himself.

Did Jesus really die on a cross?

being raised a catholic we had lots of crosses around the house.

when my family converted to this cult they were all removed and destroyed in case they had demons in them lol but at this juncture in my life i do not even know if jesus as the way he is portrayed in the bible was real.

yes a man named jesus did live and die 2000 years ago and probably on a cross but he was definitely not the son of god.

Did you like hymns as a jw?

i was just explaining to mrs picard........ never a jw, and not english, how we used to celebrate the harvest festival, when i was 7 and younger, before my parents converted to jw'ism.. i loved to sing "we plough the fields and scatter".

of course, singing such hymns is, to a jw, paramount to apostasy,with the death penalty like punishment the ensued.. how really stupid their harsh rules.. did you have any favourite hymns?.

i think we would all agree, that they beat the pants off the "kingdom melodies".

Always loved Amazing Grace, and although not hymns (lol) loved some of the songs from Jesus Christ Superstar and strangely the theme song and music from Vicar of Dibley I found myself humming along to. The kingdom melodies were like dry, stale bread in comparison.

How ironic, I thought, this so-called worldly/babs the great music was more stirring emotionally than their crappy songs of praise to the "only true God."

but i'm sensitive to black-and-white thinking now.. so, where do they rank on the scale?

think of a cultish religion scale from 0-10.. consider the likes of unitarian universalism vs baptist vs amish vs charles manson.. where do you think jw's fall on the scale?.

I reckon if they went bust, the first we would be hearing about it is when all the faders turn up for the Sunday meeting to find it closed with a for sale sign in the front.

The fade did not work

not long after learning ttatt, my hubby and i decided it would be best for us to fade.

his entire family is in, but not in the same cong.

we made it to the region convention and one sunday meeting after that.

I salute you. I started my fade with missing every other meeting and got down to sunday public talk then stopped.

Took them ages to realize I probably wasn't coming back.

Now I could not imagine sitting through that fuckery...oops ... huhmm... I mean fakery.

I think there is a danger with a really slow fade to become accustomed to it...even addicted to the double life thing. Then you become a perpetual fader and I didn't want that.
