Where are the EXJW Feminist Philosophers?
by Luther bertrand ini am working, more in the planning stages, where i am going to offer a commentary on the caleb and sophia cartoons that the org puts out.
i noticed a heavily patriarchal bent to the narrative that these cartoons offer.
i would really enjoy working with someone who has an academic background in feminist philosophy, or at least someone knowledgeable.

"You don't go to church in a Kingdom Hall"
by stephanie61092 in"you don't go to church in a kingdom hall" was stated during the public talk yesterday.
the speaker then elaborated that "people who go to church, go to fulfill a spiritual obligation.
coming to the kingdom hall is coming to learn.

He's partly right, you do go to a KH to learn how to be a mindless WTbot, via endless repetition of WT propoganda and misinformation.
Remember folks, repetition for mind control.

What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?
by paul from cleveland ini can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.
i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.
i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

The Pope Tells Trump He's Not A Christian

Can anyone tame "The Donald?" I can't see Trump letting his assigned presidential "handlers" tell him what to do and say, for that reason alone I can't see him getting in. He would be considered a troublesome liability, a loose cannon too prone to going off script.
But then again, so was Bush jnr.
If Trump gets in, will he create a national hairstyle.

The Jehovah's Witnesses' Governing Body are Elitists (Here is why)
by Terry inan "elite" group is one which has special privileges not granted to others.. and obscurantist elite, is a group which hides information by virtue of its own claim to be special and a sole source in dispensing necessary truths.. to wit:.
the gb's elitism shines through in articles such as this:.
“thus the bible is an organizational book and belongs to the christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals , regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the bible .

Yes, I agree very elitist. You could also liken it to a sort of religiously based "feudalist" system whereby the "ruling class" (GB) own all the information and only allow the "tenants" of that "kingdom" selected information. Since information is the currency who holds the information holds all the power thus creating a power imbalance that keeps the "subjects" pacified, compliant and obedient all the while being told that this system is for the benefit of all.
Or you could just call it a cult.

Yeah, what an arguement.
Pope: "You're not christian"
Trump: "No. You're not christian"
Pope: "You're not christian"
Trump: " I love money and power"
Pope: "What a coincidence, I love money and power too. My broooother"

The biggest problem with WT is WT.
This group was sewn together like frankenstein's monster with bits taken from this group and that, and whatever was missing Russell provided his own whacked out theories and declared "It lives." He got a modest following, and after his death Boozerford saw an opportunity to make some money and get some power.
Now, the monster still lives and people are still suffering, dying and families and lives being torn apart.
Everything about this group is wrong even the bits that are "right" are wrong.
