the presumably "biblical" practice of limiting the way women participate in congregational matters of the wtborg cult inc. (as well as certain other sects of christendom) may be a gross mis-interpretation of what paul meant.
i'm inclined to agree completely with this account of what paul really meant.. thoughts anyone?

Women's role as set out from the creation of Eve, in Jewish society and then reiterated by Paul is to be in subjection to men. A domestic slave, a property, and in the case of concubines a sex slave and an incubator.
In many places across the world they are still treated this way and worse. I just wish the people that choose to defend religion from the relative safety and freedom of western worlds would remember this.
the internet is what helped bring me and so many others out of this evil organization or at least confirmed our doubts.
i have to say, i have seen quite a few youtube videos recently of ex jw's secretly recording their interactions inside of different congregations, halls, etc and see how empty the halls are!
so many people comment on how the attendance is so low, far more emptier than when i was in 6 years ago, even on a weekday meeting.

elder and his wife build a flash house.. they go on the stage at an assembly and give an experiences of how they sold the flash house to simplify their life so they can go pioneering.. the real story.. elder and wife can't afford the flash house and have to sell it he never goes pioneering she does until they are declared bankrupt.. why were they bankrupt?.
the money leaft over from the flash house they invested in a yet to be build apartment and the developer goes bankrupt takeing their money.. just one of many.. karter..

as a jw i pretty much just went along with what was taught from the platform i didn't do any real bible study.
as a result, now that i am out of the org.
i find scriptures that blow my mind.. i am not sure how i would have reacted if someone had pointed this out to me when i was a jw but now i can't believe i've never noticed this before.
This was one of my favourite scriptures back in my JW days.
As a good little robot I would have said it means a "mighty god " ie in the role of and a "eternal father" figure ie in the role of - or some such thing. But, in my heart of hearts I would have thought naaah FT! Jesus is da man! I was a bit of a closet rebel like that. I had memorized official WT inerpretations but kept my private take on stuff, which probly explains why I ended up here.
a newspaper reports that in bornem, belgium, a jw volunteer was critically injured after being electrocuted:.
bornem - a man was electrocuted while performing maintenance on a high voltage installation in the assembly hall of jw in bornem friday afternoon.
the man was critically injured.. possibly the man, who is a volunteer with the jw, tried to clean the installation with a vacuum cleaner.
Tragic! Wonder how the press got the story.
Hope it prompts an investigation into WT's non existant health and safety protocols.
I've been at KH renos where little kids were running around playing tag amongst people operating power tools like nail guns etc.
Limbs being sawn off trees by Brothers without a clue how to go about it not even wearing hard hats whilst families and old people arriving for field service walking underneath.
Large urns that dripped and spluttered boiling water for tea and coffee and children playing tea parties with the thing.

I just looked him up and down, gave a little laugh and carried on with my entire presentation.
You do not "have" to do anything. Just say NO! What are tbey going to do tie you up, throw you in the boot, drive yoj to the KH and forcebyou to sit there.
First off, for reinstatement purposes you would need to meet with the elders who would want to know how you feel now probably several sessions, which, btw, you can also say NO to.

Steve 2 - Strange but true, in the latest broadcast there is a bowtie guy, and I think it's one of the videos from the convention a bowtie guy also. Seems like bowties have Jehovah's approval now.
i learned recently about this link that allows for a person to listen or watch the meetings at the kh that have contracted the service.
you have the option to watch the meeting live or just listen.
there will be a recording of the audio available until the next meeting.. i don't think that this is an official wt arrangement, it might be a private enterprise like the preaching materials .
Yep, can see this becoming the next big thing in Witnessworld. It will be an excellent way to keep big brother eyes on the meetings. If there are far fewer KHs in the future then streaming meetings makes sense logistically also.
Lol. Although, is calling anything that happens at the KH "live" giving the meetings way too much credit. When I last attended it wasn't clear if there was even a collective pulse amongst them. Can zombies be considered "live"?
