Was this protest clumsy? Could it have been better? Of course, this kind of ex-JW activism is still in it's infancy in many ways, new ground for people who were never allowed to have thoughts and feelings, let alone how to go about voicing their objections to a religion that doesn't give a crap about their thoughts and feelings. Hopefully we live and we learn.

My thoughts on Church shootings..
by DATA-DOG indisclaimer: i do not approve or condone any acts of violence that result in the deaths of innocent persons.. alright.. let me just say that i have no idea what motivated the latest mass shooting, nor do i condone those actions.
i am, however, beginning to understand why some individuals may feel that violence is their only choice, although i do not approve of that choice.. when i read topics on this forum that concern religion and legalism, topics that drone on and on, getting nowhere, i feel extremely frustrated.
yes, religions are given certain freedoms, but many are obviously going beyond the spirit that motivated the separation of church and state.

Yeah, the latest incident seems to be motivated by personal grudge, but I feel your frustration with religion.
Why they get a free pass when it comes to taxes and a wide berth with stuff like domestic violence and child abuse is beyond me. All I can think is religion must be performing some useful service for the government.

Oh I don't know. It's the self righteous double standard of Jws that gets me. They feel they have a god given right to go door to door and insist people watch a propoganda video for their cult, or set up booths in very public spaces but people are not allowed to say anything that doesn't praise or ask questions they don't like.

I always thought DJ was well liked and his input on threads appreciated with many telling him so.
This site must be difficult to figure out for someone who has never been JW, taken out of context many of the topics and comments could come off as bizarre. Most of the topics started I generally view as "just running it up the flagpole" stuff and as such I try not to take anything said here too seriously

Living with non belivers
by Blade666 inmy question is can you as a jw live on same premises as a non jw.... in split house/property with no sexual relations or anything involved... i am being forced to move due to a "sister" wanting to go back to her god and has made the point of saying she cannot have a male around.
even though the property itself is split with seperate access for both parts of the house.. she has put a blanket rule out saying the whole property itself... doesnt make sense to me nor to any of the elders i have spoken to regarding the matter.. yes i called them as i know next to nothing about the faith.. .
i find it strange that two elders urge a non jw to seek justice from fair trading and rental tribunal as they themselves do not belive the actions of the "sister" in question or her family to be correct or right... .
