just had my 1day assembly this weekend.
an experience given by the bethel speaker was quite troubling and shows how jw's live in constant paranoia, anxiety and they isolate themselves from normal living.. a first grade class was having a fire drill.
everyone ( except one) lined up and stood outside away fron the classroom in the grass.
It reminds me of an awful story a member of the GB (forget which one) related at a zone visit.
He was highlighting the wicked stupidity of young men that wear low rider jeans.
Recounting a tragic newspaer article of how a young guy being chased by the police
got his low rider pants caught on a fire escape rail and fell to his death.
The audience laughed their guts out and appauded.
I was apalled. Sick BSTARDS!

in a cong of about 70 publishers only about 50 regularly attend.. out of those 50 the majority are women, some single but a fair few whose husbands don't come anymore.. the only men that do attend are the elders, ms and a couple who tag along with their wives.. so in total there are probably only about 15 males in attendance at best.. we have had several local needs over the recent past encouraging sisters to turn over their male return visits.
to bros, and for bros that go in fs to ask to speak to the man of the house (but i am sure that is the same everywhere).
my question is are men more likely to wake up first and if so what could be the reason for this?.
I agree with you joe134cd I also think the problems we see in cong's now are only tip of the iceberg.
at times i yearn for those i love that are still "in" to just wake up and smell the cult.. i end up feeling sorry for them yet angry at them at the same time.. i know each person is on their own journey and its a process,.
but i just wish the process would hurry up already!.

Thankyou all for your input it has helped to know I am not alone with these feelings of frustration.
It is easy to start second guessing yourself when everyone around you is still drinking the koolaid.
The reasons people wake up are many and varied just like the reasons people stay are aswell.
I too at one time was utterly convinced this is "The Truth."
So I figure if I could do a mental 180 anyone can.
I now aggree with the quote "walk with those who seek truth ...RUN FROM THOSE WHO THINK THEY'VE FOUND IT."
