The regular pioneer sis in my cong left her unbelieving hubby with the six kids, went onto a disability for asthma, started pioneering and has been playing the poor "widow" card ever since.
Quite well too I might add, she gets interviewed at assemblies/service meetings about the sacrifices she has made in order to pioneer. She gets freebies and charity shown to her. And her now grown kids only live twenty minutes away but she has nothing to do with them.

sat down at a table with 4 of my younger workers.
somehow it came up that one's mother was a jehovah witness, and one had dated a jw girl before.
Yes you are right Robert about people thinking they are strange but harmless. This therapist I was seeing for a while thought the same thing.I am sure she thought I was exaggerating my experiences. All she knew of witnesses was these lovely ladies that come to her door.
When she got to know me however and started researching for herself she had to admit that things were far worse than she ever imagined them to be. She had had several JWs for clients over the years and it was always the same story. This broken shell of a person not knowing which way is up after being kicked to the curb by this "harmless religion."
That is what makes them so dangerous people think they are benign.
i'm cleaning up my home of unnecessary magazines/newsletters that i have accumulated over the years.
while i was working as an employee i did not feel like i had the time to read them.
now that i'm not working as an employee but work as a volunteer to network and maintain workplace skills, i seem to have more time to read.. after reading many threads by former jws, i thought that the following article might help some to heal.
There are many people in life I have forgiven but the WT are not nor ever will be one them.
The treatment that has been doled out to me (and others) over the years was carried out willfully and gleefully by these so called christians.
In fact I even tryed to discuss with an elder that I was having difficulty forgiving the bros and sis that were horrible.
And instead of helping me he turned me in to the other elders for having the wrong attitude!
I can move on, but forgive while they are still arrogantly reaking havoc in peoples lives? I don't think so.

And many Jws believe the world respects them for their high moral standards and prefer to hire them because of their strong work ethic.
They think people can tell there is something different about them and admire it.
HA! only until they get to know them and find out how screwy they really are.

in all my years of field service (started doing my own presentations at the doors at age 5) it never dawned on me that jesus was the one who was going to judge mankind, not me and my wt literature.

The judgement in JW land is hard to escape.They judge their neighbours they judge each other.
They judge what you wear, eat , drink, say, think, work, hobbies, taste in music, how much and what sort of tv you watch, your friends, your family it never ends what they will find to judge you on.
They are very judgy people. Way more so than Jesus ever was. Did'nt Jesus say stop judging.
i don't know if this was mentioned but i spoke with a jw from atlanta, georgia that informed me that the great gb has approved jw auditions.. yes, you read that right!
now the jw's will have their own jw idol, jw voice, and dancing with jw stars, lol.. they are using an assembly hall in atlanta and jw's from all over are auditioning from 8am till 6pm.. supposedly the idea is to have live entertainment for the delegates traveling from overseas for the international conventions.. he said they have had jw's who can play all the hits from the beatles, play merengue, salsa, sing, dance, etc.. the gb is trying hard to make their cult look normal.. some of the questions this rises are,.

anyone that has been a jw would be familiar with any or all the following scenarios.. 1. you get offered a full time position or promotion after submitting a pioneer application.. 2. a really great bible student you have gets offered a job which means they have to move or have no time for study anymore.. 3. a promising return visit begins a new relationship and the new bf/gf is'nt favourable to jws so the great rv backs off.. 4. a married sister falls pregnant right after her and her husband are invited to bethel or circuit work or gilead.. 5.a couple needs to start caring for an aging parent right after they decide to move to where the need is greater.. etc, etc, etc.
most if not all jw's would tell you satan is to blame,.... or is he?.
