A witness couple just called on me. He is an MS.

I wanted to tell them that it's not just "a few bad apples" it's the barrel itself that's the problem.

I just gave them tea and sympathy and told them they needed to do what was best for them.

Should I have said more?

It's nice some people had it so "good, nice, lovely, fun etc" growing up borg, good for you.

But for every child that had a wonderful experience how many suffered terribly at the hands of emotionally or physically abusive parents

who thought thery were "brining them up in the discipline and mental regulating of Jehovah"?

How many died through no blood policy how many were sexually abused by some predator in the cong?

Hoe many young ones have committed suicide?

Need I go on.

An elder in my area had his house raided by police because a brother was trying to charge him with covering up child abuse.

They took away the elder's files, in the end the clever wording and omissions was what saved his ass.

Needless to say the bro (who went to police) got disfellowshipped, but not before crying long and loud about the situation to anyone and everyone.

The elder is still an elder.

this took a leap with video feeds at an open annual meeting.

the international conventions are taking this a step farther.. do you think that local speakers at kingdom halls could ever be replaced by headquarter approved video feeds?.

when...... 1) we follow christ example not the gb.

2) stop df'ing those for challenging current or past doctrine and allow us to use our god given gift of reason and free wil.

Inactive relative defends new donation setup based on word of active relative. Doubts veracity of letters!

my sister came to the society's defense on the issue of "pledged amounts" not being accurate because a realative stated that it didn't happen in her congregation.

so i said they were mistaken, and that i had access to the letters proving it.

she doubted that they were authentic.

I have found with many sisters, they have never been exposed to the darker side of the congregation like many of the bro's have been.

Especially bros' that have served or reached out. These sisters are the hardest to convince, simply because they have never experienced it.
