Aggreed.

I wonder how far they would consider unreasonable travel time to the KH?

Twenty minutes? an hour? I'd be interested to see where they draw the line.

Where I live there are five congregations (small) with three separate halls with greatest

distance travel time being about half an hour.

That doesn't seem feasable even to me.

They could easy create three congs and sell two halls if they want to downsize

for the sake of liquidating some assets.

Child sex abuse cases mentioned at weekly meeting?

okay, tonight someone told me that one of the elders actually addressed the child sex abuse cases at the weeknight meeting this past week.

she said the speaker said that accusations are being made against the truth but that they should stand firm in the truth and that they are going to continue fighting these allegations and that all should stand firm for jehovah or some similar comments.... did anyone else hear this from the stage?.

Did the speaker use the words child abuse or just that "accusations" are being made?

Because I have heard speakers say that opposers make accusations that we should not believe,

but never heard a speaker be specific.

More like a general warning that "whatever we are accused of don't believe it because it's lies."

i have a question for any still going to meetings but no longer a believer.. is there any situation or announcement that would cause you to.

draw your line in the sand and walk away?.

BTW Phizzy- When I was trapped by the fear of what others would think of me

if I stopped going I was paralyzed by it. But as I faded I was both surprised and a little

disappointed at how little others were actually bothered by it.

The sky didn't fall, I didn't get struck by lightening it was mostly an unfounded fear.

Sure you will always get the judgy ones and it can test out a marriage and relationships,

but ultimately the sun will still come up tomorrow etc etc.

I agree also with what you said about self respect I think that is key to changing someone's

attitude towards this self imposed prison called the congregation.

I like to look at it this way
