that's a comment i heard from an elder i haven't seen in over a decade, yesterday.

i mentioned it all on my other thread.

i responded that i knew of no one that was crawling back to the meetings and gave him an incredulous hearty chuckle.

Whenever JWs make claims like this I get the impression that they are trying to convince themselves that a mass "crawling back" is occurring because that feels better that a mass "fading away" which would be the more likely scenario.

When I was still in and going to meetings the elephant in the room for our cong (and surrounding) was that were several people "drifting away" "slowing down" in the ministry and the meetings this was ignored while we all banged on about the amount of "interest" (non existant) there was and "how exciting" (not) the times were etc etc.

What deludinoids!

i bet most witnesses could not explain their blood policy, their understanding of the slave, and even simple biblical doctrines....they are an embarrassment to any old timer..

It actually works better for the borg to NOT have the dubs trying to splain stuff.

If you have teachings and policies that make no logical or moral sense you would do well to avoid explaining them in detail. Politicians and conmen know this also.

Meeting Attendance levels

i attended a sunday meeting today after missing a couple due to a bout of chronic apathy.

out of 74 publishers we had a grand total of 33. wonderful.

for those that attend, how are you finding the numbers?.

I think A Believer might have meant to say "Those in attendance at the KH were high."

That's the only thing that makes sense out of that statement.

That's right, you got it. If you are a baptized witness you can greet and talk to anyone on earth including axe murderers and pedophiles but you cannot talk to disfellowshipped JWs.

I hate the way JWs expect everyone else to dance to their bullets. Everyone else is supposed to just tiptoe around their beliefs like no one else is entitled to have any without being spawns of satan.

They blow every little thing up into a federal case when it 's just life.

Stand your ground you have rights too they're being petty, intolerant, and judgemental.

I have felt for some time that the org is letting individual congregations die a natural death so they can continue selling off halls.

By introducing cartwork, a website to direct people to and videos slowly, slowly replacing talks by local brothers I think they have sent the message that " kingdom workers" are not needed anymore and when people feel not needed except to be constantly berated over who they associate with and what they wear it's only natural that attendance would drop off thus creating a problem.

The answer to the "problem" is clear merge congregations and sell KHs which only adds to the problem by creating logistical issues for those attending a KH that is farther away causing more discouragement resulting in further shrinkage and drop-offs and so on and so forth it goes until ........ until.....endgame unknown at this point.

as i was driving past a certain gas station today, i recalled that the family who own it are called on by a friend of mine, and in a territory where it's hard to find interest.

it reminded me of an incident months back when this friend, brother d, discovered that another friend, brother b, was calling on that family too.

Australian Jehovah's Witnesses are ignorant of the Australian Royal Commission

many here have asked how the average witness in australia is taking the news of the arc findings and conclusions.. is it affecting them?.

sorry to say, hardly any are even aware of the facts.

those that are, have been convinced that all the publicity is "apostate lies and satanic propaganda".

Well Australia is a big brown land with lots of people and I 'm sure we couldn't possibly speak for everyone. These kinds of things have a way of slowly dripping into public consciousness.

You never know what's happening in the minds of people. To help things along I have printed out some key pages of the ARC report and have placed into the letterboxes in the street of the local KH. I have also supplied the local sexual abuse support centre with info because the CEO wanted to know more about the beliefs and practices of the JWs they see.

I prefer to think of the glass being half full at this stage, nothing happens overnight.
