WT have always been very careful to word anything to do with De Effing in a "spiritual" sense in the context of religious freedoms. Who can touch them?
We all know and have both witnessed and experienced what happens within families, congs and individual members. The "lovely nice" JWs will gleefully ruin the reputations of innocent people, turn parents against children and vice-versa, discriminate against them and generally make people's lives hell, but, technically, whether you really "got it" at the time or not, you are told about what happens to people that "turn their backs on" Gee Hova and the reasons for expulsion all JWs are aware and have gone along with it themselves at some point. So, I'm not sure what a western democratic court is supposed to do about it. Especially when WT releases official statements like "normal family relationships continue" blah blah.
It's a sticky wicket for people but I think the only answer is to stand up to these religious bullies by moonwalking away backwards giving the double finger to them as you go. Crime and abuse victims though are a different story they should by all means lawyer up and go for the jugular.
it is funny to contemplate how ridiculous the act of shunning "apostates" who leave the org for conscientious reasons is.. so we have been rudely ignored and even abused by jws who :.
1) have been imprisoned recently for dishonest business practices and fraud worth millions of dollars.
2) have been bankrupt several times.
It's like they gleefully enjoy it when a "fellow brother" falls from grace. In my experience with fading the "slacker""double-lifer" JWs have been the worst or depending how you look at it the best shunners - go figure.
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" ? ...Yeah, I don't think so, this religion owns the template for creating the perfect hypocrite.
i am shaking all over right now.
i think it's worse that the bunker video.. i used to think there was no way that these people would actually "drink the cool aid" if you get my drift, but seeing this video i am now not sure it could never happen.. having a wife who i love dearly trapped in this cult is really freaking me out right now...
Forget Disney and Tarrantino it's got a kind of garage or rather basement Kubric wannabe co lete with coded messages written all over it. Instead of The Shining it's The Shining One - tagline? Heeere's Jesus. Lol.
if anyone has any ideas or pictures of a tattoo that would sum up being an ex jw please share.
Resistance is not futile.
it’s been very difficult, much more than i first anticipated to live a lie, (be pimo and a regular active member) i still live with my parents but i plan on moving out at the end of the year, so i really need to keep it together.
but i think people are starting to get suspicious that something is up.
i’ve stopped commenting, going on service all the time, talking at the door, and occasionally voicing something, such as a question that no one has a good answer for, that makes people think, but ahah, thinking is dangerous and wrong so that is suspicious of course.
One more thing - "Resistance is not futile."

At the end of the day nobody really knows how people will react or what the knock-on effect will be and it can keep you tied in knots worrying about it. All legal adults are technically resposible for themselves and their own reactions and their own decisions. Choose the the action and you choose the knowable consequences, if you're ok with that you'll be fine.
i am really disturbed by some methods that jw family members try and use to emotionally manipulate us back into the organization.. one of our fellow posters here has had a family member send several photos of them as a child either out witnessing, and at an assembly.. no words - just those pictures.. it seems such an infantile and manipulative technique to employ?!.
do they think that we will all simply ignore the logical and factual reasons we no longer attend, just because we see some sentimental picture?
do they not see that this actually may reinforce our understanding that we were raised as children in a high-control religious group where we had to please our parents.
Yep LHG, I interpreted her action (quite correctly I feel) as a passive aggressive dig.
JWs are weird little narcissists.
the star has a previous first-look production deal with the network to produce unscripted series following the success of her emmy-winning show “leah remini: scientology and the aftermath.” according to the hollywood reporter, remini will produce a special for the network during the break following season 3 of the acclaimed docuseries.. it notes that jehovah’s witnesses, while based on biblical teachings, have come under fire over the years for similar practices to the church remini left years ago.
for example, practices of ousting or shunning members who have dissenting views, a blanket refusal to participate in politics and government as well as not celebrating christmas or birthdays are all things that the special will reportedly cover.
additionally, the religion has predicted the literal end of the world several times, obviously to no avail.. .
The GB are getting up there in years, Sanderson has reason to be more upbeat he is the youngest and wil outlive them he has another 15-20/25 years as a faithful talking head to look forward to. The others may retire or pop their clogs in the the next 5-10.
when meghan markle says her royal wedding vows to prince harry on saturday, she’ll be following in the footsteps of princess diana and kate middleton by choosing to omit the traditional promise to “obey” her husband, the palace confirms.. during the ceremony, officiated by archbishop of canterbury justin welby, meghan will tell her royal groom: “i meghan, take you, harry, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to god’s holy law.
in the presence of god i make this vow.”.
the decision doesn’t come as a surprise: meghan has long been a vocal feminist, working with organizations like one world vision to learn about the challenges facing women and girls living in dubai and mumbai.
Exactly DOC!
It's not Harry she will have to obey it's the royal family and their handlers right down to what nail polish she is allowed to wear!
