I remember KH's being packed out like that in the past. But the last memorial I attended (maybe 2 years ago), there must have been 30 empty seats. If memorial attendance is down everywhere, it may cease to be a problem.

Does the WT knowingly violate fire codes on Memorial night?
by Calebs Airplane ini've been to at least 5 different halls in my lifetime and have seen the same scenarios repeated over and over... the max occupancy sign (regulated by local fire code) is completely ignored on memorial night.. for example, one hall i attended had an average congo attendance of about 95 with a max occupancy of 175. however, on memorial night, we'd usually stuff at least 200 people into the hall.
don't ask me how, but we did... the other 4 halls i attended had similar scenarios.... however, my experiences could very well be completely isolated events.
so i'm curious to know what your experiences have been on memorial night.... have you noticed whether or not the fire code has been adhered to at your hall on memorial night?

How could they come out with a new NWT without Freddy? Or could Freddy help them from afar?

If 1914 is wrong then how is it that it was such a landmark year?
by awakening inthis is the question that came up in my mind.
now dont get me wrong i know the dates from 607 - 1914 are rubbish, but how would you explain to a witness when they will automatically say, look at the momentus year 1914 was.
that is evidence enough that 607 is correct!.

Thanks for all your research, Sulla. I wondered who those 10 nations were--9 or 11 rounded off to 10.

Landmark in what way? WWI started in late July of that year. The 2,520 years didn't end until October. If Jesus was enthroned as King in October and threw Satan out of heaven then, how could it be said that WWI was related to that event?
A few years ago an elder told me the reason why...He said that even though WWI began in July, it wasn't until October that there were 10 nations involved. And the number "10" is a complete number. I believed him at the time.

Rumor of new light on the headquarters of the WT
by wolfman85 ini read in a forum in spanish that there is a strong rumor spreading in the corridors of the wt.
has anyone heard anything about this??
the change that is emerging is this: the great crowd has not yet appeared, and it is a group that comes out of the great tribulation.

Does anybody remember that at one time the Great Tribulation began in 1914 and it was cut short about 1919 for the sake of the holy ones (can't remember why). There was to be an interruption for a short period of time, then the Great Tribulation would start up again as Armageddon. Except the "short period of time" became a long period of time. So they changed the explanation that the Great Tribulation was in the future and was one in the same as Armageddon? I think the explanation changed in the early 1970's.
So I think the explanation was that the Great Crowd came out of the Great Tribulation that had already begun.

It Appears The Elderly Are More Taken Care Of Then Ever Before By The Elders
by minimus ini usually find fault with the religion but i must give credit when due.
in the hall my mom is in, they regularly check on her and assign different ones to visit and check on the elderly.. if there's a storm or an extremely cold day, they come by to make sure the elderly have everything they need..

If your Mom is lucky enough to be in a congo where she has had friends for years, and genuinely kind nice guys at the KH then like any social club they will look out for one another.
My mom had friends for years in her congo, but when she got sick, they just faded away. Too busy going in service to even stop by, but we would see them stopping at the neighbor's houses.

Metro-Detroit churches become full service gathering spots.
by Bonnie_Clyde ini love it!
maybe the wt could learn a thing or two from this.
how about drive-thru coffee at the kingdom halls?
-

I was being facetious. I well know that they don't allow hardly any of the things that I used to enjoy--rolling skating parties, congregation picnics, musical events, etc. Clyde and I were laughing about what their reaction would be if we suggested a Zumba class in our KH.

Back in the day when people's hours were put on a chart on the notice board (going back 50 or 60 years) it encouraged competition and judgement.
MMXIV - I well remember the charts. In our congregation, they were on a large display board in front of the hall for everyone to view. I was a regular pioneer (100 hrs/month) and had a partner. The pioneer numbers were separated from the publishers so the congregation knew exactly what we were doing. It would have been even worse if I had been the only pioneer.

When I was in this Doomsday cult would guilt people to do more, by using the example of Joshua circling Jericho many times more right before the walls fell down.
I remember reading that back in the early 1940's, the WT was using the "Joshua circling Jericho many more times before the walls fell" to get people to speed up their activity. It has now been 70+ years. I have a lot of the volumes from the early 1940's but don't have an index to find it.
