i'm too cheap to pay for cable.
there's really not a lot of stuff to choose from that's worth watching for the price.
free tv sucks the most, reality shows and other mindless garbage that keep making its way to market.
I have to watch:
Lost
Invasion
Desperate Housewives
Supernatural
Ghost Whisperer
American Idol
Thank goodness for TiVo

i know i'm not jwd's most popular participant but even i look at this place as a means of support sometimes.
i just wanted to say that this morning my father died of a heart attack while in field service.. i am on my way to new mexico with my daughter.
as some of you know i am df'd so you know how that goes when attending a jw funeral.
Sorry for your loss, Eduardo. Be safe and keep your head up around the other JW's don't let them get to you.
Hugs,

I just stated reading a book called "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold. I am beginning chapter 3. Here is the excerpt from the inside cover:
When we first meet Susie Salmon, she is already in heaven. As she looks down from this strange new place, she tells us, in the fresh and spirited voice of a fourteen-year-old girl, a tale that is both haunting and full of hope.
In the weeks following her death, Susie watches life on Earth continuing without her-her school friends trading rumors about her disappearance, her family holding out hope that she'll be found, her killer trying to cover his tracks. As months pass without leads, Susie sees her parents' marriage being contorted by loss, her sister hardening herself in an effort to stay strong, and her little brother trying to grasp the meaning of the word gone.
And she explores the place called heaven. It looks a lot like her school playground, with the good kind of swing sets. There are counselors to help newcomers adjust and friends to room with. Everything she ever wanted appears as soon as she thinks of it-except the thing she most wants: to be back with the people she loved on Earth.
With compassion, longing, and a growing understanding, Susie sees her loved ones pass through grief and begin to mend. Her father embarks on a risky quest to ensnare her killer. Her sister undertakes a feat of remarkable daring. And the boy Susie cared for moves on, only to find himself at the center of a miraculous event.
The Lovely Bones is luminous and astonishing, a novel that builds out of grief the most hopeful of stories. In the hands of a brilliant new writer, this story of the worst thing a family can face is transformed into a suspenseful and even funny novel about love, memory, joy, heaven, and healing.
So, what book are you reading?

after the wts became a troublesome entity for you, how did you feel about the specific jws that persuaded you to come into the org which subsequently caused you so much heartache?
did you confront them on the issue?
The ones who brought me to the WTS, both her and her husband are now deceased. I never blamed them, they just thought they were doing the right thing. Just like we all did at one time. I was sad when they both passed away, as I left the WTS before they died. They were good people, just misled.

i know this might sound like a question from "la-la" land but as a black ex-jws most of the white jw's that i did have contact with were really nice.
i was talking to a hispanic ex-jws the other day and he was telling me of some of the racist experiences he had as a jw.
i did not contradict him but i never experienced racism from caucasian jw's.
A spanish sister who went to the same hall that I did was upset after a meeting. I asked her why she was upset and she said that her teenage son overheard 2 elders talking and one made a racist comment. She said that one elder asked the other elder if he was going home to watch the basketball game and the other one said, no, i'll pass, that's just a little bit to much color for me.

Why is it that when you visit, everybody comes out of the wood work to see you?
Why does everyone act like you are God?
So sickening!
