I have contact with a JW-based business. They insist on signing their business letters with the business name - not using personal names - copying from the universal WTBS signature ("Your Brothers, WTBTS" ---> "Your brothers ****** ").

Drives me crazy!

it basically said that in order to be a jw you must agree with all of what the society teaches.

got this "experience" in an email.

it was sent by a sister i used to know quite well, i think she sent it to encourage me, but it has had the opposite effect.. "____________________.

baptized at age 5. the mother and father of a little girl had a bible study with xxx.

Holy Maloney, Eu! Didn't know you were baptized at 8!!! (Maybe I'd forgotten) That's no age for such a serious, far-reaching decision.

A girl in our cong (daughter of a very 'cultish' family) got baptized at about 11, pioneered straight from school with hardly any qualifications and we could see the resentment/unhappiness in her eyes. While still in her teens, she ran off with a 'worldly' older guy she met in a chat room. Of course, it's the internet's and Devil's fault

Oh yeah, one of my kids learned to read at three - she's only four now and she's fluent. Of course, none of my kids are going to join the TMS until they know what they're talking about (if we're still attending then).

just wondering why you choose not to use too many identifying facts about yourself on the boards?

is it to protect yourself, or others?.

for me, i have nothing to lose where the dubs are concerned, and initially my profile was pretty extensive.
