Order in the universe
by Rattigan350 inthis topic was covered in book study last night.
some commented that the universe is ordered and the stars don't collide.. that has nothing to do with order.
it is more to do with that there is more space between the stars and planets and things go between them if they were in the same area.. and do they not consider that the many things that colliided with the moon to make those crators?.

Want to know why people accept evolution ?
by snare&racket indo you have questions about or want to understand evolution?
it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.
we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

Memorial 2014: Wrong date?
by AnnOMaly inthis was meant to have nice inserted pictures and tidy hyperlinks but the forum's being glitchy today.
so unfortunately it's going to be a messy post where you're going to have to exercise your tapping fingers and click on the links to the pics to see what i'm referring to.
sorry about that.. in the article recently studied "do this in remembrance of me" (w13 12/15), there is a box on p. 23 giving the date of this year's memorial and how that date is arrived at.. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2013926.

Overkill, I know, but FWIW, another chart:
Israel fell into the orange area which, according to the legend, meant the March 31 crescent was "visible to the naked eye under perfect conditions." This chart probably wouldn't have been available to the researchers at the Writing Department when the article was put together, but a pdf showing new crescent visibility in Mecca (slightly east of Jerusalem in longitude) would have been available from the same astro.ukho.gov.uk site.

Nisan 1 is determined by when the new moon nearest the spring equinox can likely be observed at sunset in Jerusalem. nonjwspouse: BTW Ann what is the correct date? I have been reading the chromicle project sometimes and caught the date discrepancy. But can't find the particulars just now.
Following the JW method and interpretation, the Memorial 2014 should really be held on Sunday April 13.
