I forgot to add this will take me awhile to get through so please be patient if I dont have too man questions right away. My schedule is full between work and family but I will be researching this as much as I can. i am very excited to be able to show my father some honest concerns any normal person would have with an organization that I intentionally uses misleading quotes.

Well this time he wanted to know why I didn't trust the g.b. and I told him when they uses sources to prove their point they misquote what the sources say. He didn't believe that the watchtower would do this, but he said he would look it up.
I know memebers of this board and Karl Johnsonn have shown these sources but I know my father will not accept their word. What should I do if I need to find the actual book or papers that are quoted.
i am very excited about my father willing to look something outside the wt and I hope this endeavor goes well any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I hope this guy gets nailed. Ms. Waters will have a hard time proving that his position led to a cover up though. I'm not saying there wasn't one,(I don't know the details of this case) but it seems to be a theory that could be hard to prove in my opinion.

Thanks for the post sg I just listened to your recording today. I found a few things I interesting. You made the comment about a cog in the machine, I just said the same thing in a post I made Saturday before I viewed your video, we definitely are on the same page lol.
its also telling that the elders right away went to ask if you have been reading anything else. That is the first thing my elders asked me. then they ask right away if you still believe the gb is the FDS. they all think the same and go into protection mode right away, sickening. hang in there buddy your head is in the right place.

my wife has had the tv on when they had a couple of the episodes dealing with the amish being shunned. if the show could just factually explain the process of a normal, hardworking person informing the elders they no longer want to be a JW i think it would be very powerful.

So my wife and my parents are at their convention today. this will be the first time in my life that i will not have seen a drama or baptism. i will miss the public address, i will not see many of my lifelong friends that i have moved away from. it took me awhile to get started this morning, im going to be heading to the gym but i just received this text from my mom.
"I just wanted to tell you, Dad and I love you, (my wife) loves you and all your friends love you, as does Jehovahs. Please don't throw it all away."
my mom has never talked to me like this before and it kind of hit me hard today. it amazes me how much my decision to simply stop attending meetings has affected them. i would like to be part of my old social network, i had real friends and while it was "the truth" that brought us together, the friendships that developed over a lifetime were real. they would still be real except for this manmade barrier that is engrained in the minds of JWs, this barrier that tells a person that when their friend does not fit into the mold, they are spiritually "weak". the alarms go off in their mind, and the isolation process begins. no more conversations, no more invites, the defective cog must be left alone, maybe it will be fixed, maybe not, leave it alone so it wont rub off on others.
its a tough process to go through, to leave this religon/cult. i have been very careful so as not to incriminate myself in various conversations, but that is what is so ingenious about this cult. it forces ones that learn TTATT that do not want to be df/ed, to keep queit. the ones that dont, obviously we know what happens.
open discourse, dangerous indeed.
its a nice day outside, i think im gonna go enjoy it.
