Reddit Post: Watchtower Appeals to Supreme Court
by APieceOfShitNamedTate infrom john redwood.... a preview of upcoming news:.
jehovah's witnesses are appealing to the supreme court of the united states, but this time it has nothing to do with preaching or saluting the flag.. it's all about child abuse.. specifically, the protection (or cover-up) of information, documents, and testimony of persons involved in cases of child abuse.. i will be covering this story in the coming weeks and months, but i thought i would share some of this news and try to distill it down as simply as i can.. i'd like to point out first that watchower has appealed to the supreme court in connection with their loss of yet another california child abuse case.
the chance that watchtower's appeal being will be heard by the supreme court is slim, but anything is possible.. what brought this about?.

Oh I understand that Finkelstein, I'm just wondering how the defense of 607 will hold up when the society changes its understanding of the weeks and 1914 and all that.
Time continues to move on, It will be interesting to see how they wiggle out of that one.

Scholar why does it matter that Jerusalem was destroyed in 607, compared to 587?

I have not be to a kh in probably 6 years or so, I will not be going back.
At the same time, there are alot of people I miss, friends who would have done anything to help me. They obviously do not feel the same way anymore, but I do miss them, I hope they wake up, i hope they see what is going on.
I hate what I was taught, but at the same time, certain qualities that were stressed since i was young have benefitted me with my friends and professionally. I think I might be rambling, but I think most people in life are good, and that includes alot of jws, I just wish they could see the big picture.
I know those who have left jws have happiness and freedom, I know I do, but I would absolutely be lying if I said I didn't miss my old friends.

Fisherman I am pretty sure there is no guarantee for privacy in a first time pm. Anything we put on the Internet has the possibility of getting out.
I can understand why morph would post those questions because it seems like you were interrogating him. Alot of people here have had bad experiences with being interrogated by a group of men, I don't know about morph, but I can understand him getting defensive.
I hope you enjoy your time here there are some interesting individuals and some good discussions to be had by all.

Yeah this WT read like a bad joke. There are no types or anti types, we can't force complex understandings of simple parables, oh and btw we are the faithful and discreet slave since 1919 and we are becoming "more discreet" then before. it's getting pretty sad.
I think they are just putting random ideas on a board and they take turns throwing darts to see what to print next.

Shirley, thank you for the proclaimers quote. the watchtowers own words provide more damaging testimony against itself, then anything it's staunchest detractors could write.
i will have these quotes saved for a long time thank you.

by sowhatnow inobviously they feel a window washer job is a job anyone can do anywhere in he world .

i sense a lot of disdain for labor intensive jobs on this site, which I can understand because there are so many here that regret not getting a college education.
With that said a skilled carpenter, electrician, or any other skilled tradesman can make a good living and support a family. I wish I would have gone to college, but that was not an option for me, fortuantely I was able to find work in a unique field, unfortunately it is labor intensive. We really should not be knocking these trades jobs, we need to respect all people that work hard for a living.

Wal-Mart Workers Plan Huge Protest on Black Friday
by talesin inwal-mart, which pays a top wage of $12.00+ to its full-time employees, is under attack, once again, by its employees and those who would like to unionize them.. i can't speak to the usa, but here in canada, most wal-mart employees are not full time.
it is mostly a part-time employer, so zero benefits.
in my opinion, that makes the $12.00+ look a lot smaller when you envision the actual paycheque.

Should adults working full time receive a living wage for their efforts? absolutely. Let the nations largest employers pay the wages, not the taxpayers supporting food stamps and subsidized housing.
