  Letters to the Body of Elders (BOE) - Change in Letterhead

  within the last few hours, two separate posters, watchtower87 and pixel, independently posted news of a april 22nd, 2014 letter to the boe regarding a change in how elders are to be appointed and deleted:.

  they are both from "the governing body of jehovah's witnesses" and not from "the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses.".

  To my knowledge we do not need to suspect document authenticy any more because it's not the documents that leak but jw.org credentials. So the docs are just downloads from the very source.

  If you are thinking about "Stepping Down" you better do it QUICK!

  the new arrangement for co's to handle deletions (and appointments) means you no longer will be able to give your friends on the body an excuse and step down.

  you will have to answer to the co and most likely have a long uncomfortable chat about everything with him in order to step down.

  so if you have been thinking about stepping down, you need to do it quick before the new arrangement..

  So the BOE letters have made a shift towards unofficiality? No corporate/legal letterhead any more, just the religious non-term?

  If so, then next time a BOE letter tells to break a law, the corporation has nothing to do with it.

  Translating JWFacts to Spanish... Update?

  as you all may know, it is an ongoing project to translate jwfacts to spanish.

  given that there are more than 2 spanish-speaking jw's for every one that speaks english, it can be safely said that spanish is the #1 language in the jw world (even though everything is made originally in english).. the spanish-speaking jw's are harder to convince.

  i attribute it almost 100% to socioeconomic factors.

  I have worked on English to Estonian translation for about a year now to produce http://www.tunnistaja.ee

  It's doable and enjoyable. An invaluable tool has been owning the WT library in both languages. It has the synchronize function, so you can just make a text search based on the original language, the sync and then copy-paste the translated version. Never have to seek through publications based on dates and pages.

  is it still not available?.

  Especially considering that it's only in theaters in the US (and possibly UK or some other prime place). But this movie deserves to go big and public sooner or later, preferably sooner. It's one of those movies that I would pay for legally but also die to have it torrentable.

  i'm considering resigning as an elder.

  i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.

  and i'm completely exhausted.

  May I ask, how come you are not changing faith but ask ex members advice on resigning as an elder? I mean, in the context of a faith that says you are not to have any contact with the ex members.

  As a recent BOE letter suggested, text at jw.org may differ from what is in printed editions. So the on-line Insight can be easily edited and wether or not they will make some printed snapshots from it in the future is just a technical detail.

  However, looking at the speed of the new kool-aid flow lately, I doubt they are going to print much encyclopedia-style books in the future. Just dull little snake-oil promotional style leaflets.

  Cause have you ever seen a Herbalife/TupperWare/AloeVera encyclopedia? I haven't.

  I think the Research Guide is the natural replacement for the Reasoning book. Since this has not been properly released and discussed I suspect they will use the convention as a way of promoting it and discussing it's use.

  Nice naming for it. First you research only what we publish, secondly, we even write you a Guide on how to do that. Listen and be guided!
